So then help me understand. If they want Ukraine and they get Ukraine but it's a war-torn nation with no economic benefit whatsoever and you will need funds to rebuild it how will you get the money? You can't rely on your own country because you ran that into the ground. So is China just going to be supporting four different countries (Russia, North Korea, Ukraine, their own)?

How does that have anything to do with what I said? It doesn't.

Putin has put himself in a corner where he is not accomplishing what he wants, he can't simply back out of it, and his country is being destroyed by sanctions.

My original position was to not get involved because of the threat of nuclear war.

And then I thought: nuclear war is scary because we don't want to die. Innocent Ukrainian civilians are dying, including a maternity hospital that was bombed not long ago.

Is my life being destroyed by a nuclear weapon any worse then what they are going through? I just don't think it is.

It is time to remember JFK during the Cuban Missile Crisis and call that guy's bluff. If we cannot risk our own lives to save the lives of innocent people, we're not really worth very much.

I don't doubt that. If it comes to that, the others involved in the launching of the weapons will turn on him. I have no doubt about that.

But this shit needs to stop. Everyone always says that we were supposed to learn from World War II. We didn't try to stop Germany in the beginning because we didn't want to risk war. And now we are not trying to stop Putin because we don't want to risk war.

Well, we're not risking war. It is already happened. And if he conquers Ukraine because he is threatening nuclear war,. he will realize he can do this to other countries not in NATO.
