While nothing has officially been announced, the XFL’s filings on Oct. 10 with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect 'United Football League' and 'UFL,' suggest the XFL-USFL alliance will rebrand as the United Football League.

I don't wanna say I hate it, but there already was a UFL, so it's a bit meh. I'd rather they use XFL (yes it existed once but the original owner brought it back thensold it to the new owners) or something totally original.

The trademark for that was apparently abandoned in 2017 so its fair game TBH,

The name is alright and I do like the fact that they are potentially using more XFL team names than the USFL team names. St. Louis Battlehawks may be surviving yet again! Overall, I see this as a positive thing,. The champs from both leagues facing each other on week 1 is very smart.

Kinda sucks that there's no teams in the far Western United States. Also, the 3 of the 8 teams are based in Texas: Houston Roughnecks, Arlington Renegades and San Antonio Brahmas. Why three teams?
