Washington Commanders sounds nice for a new name problem is they ain't commanding the NFC East anytime soon till they figure out the QB situation over there. When it comes to Coaches surely Owners can hire whoever they want but when you're rolling the Dice hoping your number lands on the Table time to start rolling the Dice with Coaches of Color of as well. Bs Flores got canned after how he turned that Dolphins team around I would scoop him up in a hot minute. A Coach that can bring a Team together when it's going badly and have them in a position for a Playoff spot Man that is a Coach you want to have and go to War with. We are in February now Free Agency in March, and the Draft in April. Expect me to make a Thread for it if Doom doesn't make it before me and plenty of guessing on who each team would pick. Last time I did it I had my Eagles taking Justin Jefferson and they took Reagor Jesus it hurts my Soul even saying that.

I refused to believe that the owners are racist by not having the black coaches being hired. Like OMB says, they can hire whoever they want and the odd thing, that the white coaches are the ones being hired.

I want to believe this is sarcasm but if not you have to be kidding yourself if you think what you said above. You're telling me that out of all the black coaches out there only 1 has a job? But you're right they can hire whomever they want because that's worked out great in places like Detroit and with the Jets.

There's no way (but they did) people looked at Adam Gase and Urban Meyer, and thought "This is a great hire." Which is why the last teams that hired them as head coaches are still struggling to do anything relevant.

They are going to have to just do what they can because the market for QB's is HEAVY. I mean think about all the teams that need a QB now? Almost all of the NFC South and half of the AFC North alone need a QB. I would say that many teams need to become like the 49ers. Defense heavy first and settle for a mid-tier QB.

Hue Jackson's accusing the Cleveland Browns of paying him to tank:

ESPN

Former Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson and the head of his foundation accused the Browns of paying Jackson to lose games during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

The allegation came on the heels of Brian Flores suing the NFL and three teams -- the Dolphins, Broncos and Giants -- alleging discrimination regarding his interview processes with Denver and New York and his firing last month by Miami. In the lawsuit, Flores also alleged that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross attempted to incentivize him to tank, aka purposely lose games, shortly after he was hired in 2019, with Ross allegedly offering Flores $100,000 for every loss that season.

Kimberly Diemert, who is the executive director of the Hue Jackson Foundation, which works to prevent human trafficking, claimed the Browns made a similar offer to Jackson when he was the head coach in Cleveland, tweeting that "we have records that will help" Flores' case.

Diemert said in a phone interview with ESPN that their proof is "well documented" and previously had been "presented to the league." Diemert declined to say how much money was discussed.

A spokesperson for the Browns called the charge "completely fabricated" and said that "any accusation that any member of our organization was incentivized to deliberately lose games is categorically false."

In a text message exchange, Jackson said that "it's time to take a stand. What I want is what Brian [Flores] wants which is for this BS to change for black coaches. I lived this same crap."

He didn't immediately comment further, but had earlier tweeted multiple times backing Diemert's claims.

The Browns went 1-15 in 2016, then 0-16 the next season, giving them the No. 1 draft pick in back-to-back years. Cleveland drafted defensive end Myles Garrett in 2017, then quarterback Baker Mayfield in 2018. Jackson was fired midway through the 2019 season.

Grambling State hired Jackson to be its head coach this past December.

Jim Harbaugh's staying at Michigan it seems. :lizlol

Typical Vikings fashion to make headlines and them summarily disappoint immediately after.

Jaguars hire Doug Pederson as head coach:

ESPN

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Doug Pederson, who won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, is being hired as the new head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The hiring ends a search that began 49 days after the team fired Urban Meyer and 35 days after Pederson first interviewed with the Jaguars.

Pederson went 42-31-1 and made three playoff appearances in five seasons in Philadelphia (2016-20). The Eagles drafted Carson Wentz second overall and went 7-9 in Pederson's first season, but they went 13-3 in 2017, survived the loss of Wentz late in the season when Nick Foles got hot and beat New England 41-33 in Super Bowl LII.

Pederson led the Eagles to two more playoff appearances in 2018 and 2019. Philadelphia went 4-11-1 in 2020 and Pederson, who benched Wentz at halftime of the team's Week 13 loss to Green Bay for rookie Jalen Hurts, was fired after the season.

Pederson spent the 2021 season out of football, but he was the first head-coaching candidate the Jaguars interviewed. That was on Dec. 30 and the Jaguars brought him back for a second interview on Tuesday.

Pederson began his NFL coaching career with Philadelphia and spent two years as an offensive quality control coach (2009-10) and two as quarterbacks coach (2011-12). He followed head coach Andy Reid to Kansas City after Reid was fired following the 2012 season and spent three seasons as the Chiefs' offensive coordinator before being hired in 2016 to replace Chip Kelly in Philadelphia.

Pederson spent 10 years in the NFL mainly as a backup quarterback for Miami, Green Bay, Philadelphia and Cleveland, compiling a 3-14 record and completing 54.8 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

The Jaguars interviewed nine other candidates: Jaguars interim head coach Darrell Bevell, Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, Green Bay offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, Indianapolis defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, former Indianapolis and Detroit head coach Jim Caldwell, Dallas offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, former Las Vegas interim head coach Rich Bisaccia, and Alabama offensive coordinator and former Houston head coach Bill O'Brien.

Denver hired Hackett and Chicago hired Eberflus, both of whom also got second interviews with the Jaguars, as did Leftwich.

Pederson replaces Meyer, whom the Jaguars fired with cause just before 1 a.m. ET on Dec. 16 because he went 2-11 and committed a string of embarrassing missteps that included two viral videos of him behaving inappropriately in a restaurant/bar with a woman who wasn't his wife, reports of him berating his assistant coaches, and trying to hire a strength coach who was accused of making racist remarks and bullying Black players at Iowa.

The Jaguars have had just one winning season since 2007 and have lost 10 or more games in 10 of the last 11 seasons. The Jaguars finished 3-14 in 2021 and have the first pick in the NFL Draft again in 2022. Their combined record in the past two seasons is 4-29, which included a 20-game losing streak that is the second-longest in NFL history.

Happy for Dougie P he deserves another Head Coaching spot in the NFL. Dude wins a SB but let's not forget he tanked vs Washington the last Game of the Season helping them win the Division. That one mistake got him fired by Lurie but I'm sure he's learned from that mistake and he turns around the Jags sooner rather than later.

Commanders - wow. All that alleged research and they go with the option that FOUR PERCENT of their fans voted for on a survey. Laughable.

I think I've decided on a team to support btw. Been watching old episodes of Home Improvement - let's go Lions!!!

The Dolphins hire Mike McDaniel as head coach.

ESPN
MIAMI -- The Dolphins have agreed to a deal with San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel to make him their next head coach, the team announced Sunday.

McDaniel's hearing marks the end of a nearly month-long search since the Dolphins fired Brian Flores on Jan. 10.

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was the other finalist for the job.

McDaniel, who identifies as multiracial, joins the Pittsburgh Steelers' Mike Tomlin, Washington Commanders' Ron Rivera and the New York Jets' Robert Saleh as the league's only minority head coaches. The 49ers will receive two third-round draft selections as compensation under the Rooney Rule for developing a minority assistant who was hired for an NFL head coaching job.

McDaniel gets his first head-coaching job at any level after spending 15 seasons in the NFL and two in the UFL. He spent one season as San Francisco's offensive coordinator after being promoted in January 2021. In that season, the 49ers had the league's seventh-best offense in terms of yards per game and produced an All-Pro in wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

McDaniel began his NFL career as an intern for the Denver Broncos in 2005, then spent three seasons as an offensive assistant with the Houston Texans under Gary Kubiak. He spent another three seasons as an offensive assistant and a wide receivers coach for the Washington Football Team -- on a staff that included current head coaches Matt LaFleur of the Green Bay Packers, Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams and Kyle Shanahan of the 49ers.

McDaniel followed Shanahan, at the time an offensive coordinator, to a one-year stint with the Cleveland Browns, where he was a wide receivers coach, and then two years with the Atlanta Falcons, where he was an offensive assistant. Shanahan became the 49ers' head coach in 2017 and hired McDaniel as the run game coordinator before promoting him to offensive coordinator last offseason. In McDaniel's five seasons in San Francisco, the offense has ranked 11th in rushing yards with the fifth-highest percentage of runs that pick up 10 or more yards.

McDaniel will become the Dolphins' 11th head coach, interim or otherwise, since 2000, after they employed just three head coaches in their 34 previous years of existence. They fired Flores after he went 24-25 in three seasons, including two of the franchise's seven winning seasons this century.

Flores filed a racial-discrimination lawsuit against the NFL, the Dolphins, New York Giants and Denver Broncos last week over the interview processes in New York and Denver and his firing by Miami. In that lawsuit, Flores alleged that owner Stephen Ross offered him $100,000 per loss during the 2019 season. Ross denied the accusation last week.

Gotta love Eli having a sense of humor and the fact that he lead the Giants to two Super Bowl titles.
