The talent comment is true (though a lot of this same "talent" almost won this shitty division last year so there was an expectation going into the season believe it or not that we could potentially compete... yes, this was a thing) - but as someone who is a glutton for punishment and has watched every single Panthers game this year - Frank Reich is not a good head coach - talent or not. His play calling has been awful since the pre-season and it has shown zero signs of improvement. Even in a terrible team you want to see some type of improvements somewhere... and in many cases it's gotten worse. He was supposed to be an offensive guru and his entire offense consists of screen plays and runs straight up the middle for 0-3 yards. Not firing him this season would just be prolonging the pain and the inevitable.
The real issue is what coach is going to want to come into this situation and deal with a micromanging/meddling owner? Every other job opening will be filled before the Panthers.
The What if to me if the Eagles let go of Andy Reid after one Season because they went 5-11 in his first Season that had nothing on Offense outside of McNabb who didn't play till November. You can be a so called Guru all you want but you sometimes you don't have the talent that can run that Offense and start momentum again as a franchise. I would of gave him another Year, check out Free Agency, and hopefully with the Picks you do have going into 2024 then you see what happens.
How did the Bears beat the Vikings who have been playing really well tonight? It should be interesting who gets the last 2 Wild Card spots in the NFC the 5th Seed is either Dallas or Philly most likely for the Cowboys but everyone after that is very close to each other. Even the Bears are 2 Games out.
The Seahawks who hold one of the spots will play Dallas, Niners, Eagles, Titans the next 4 Games.
The Vikings hold the other spot and they play Raiders, Bengals, Lions, and Packers the next 4 Games.
The Packers who are one Game out of the last spot play Chiefs, Giants, Bucs, Panthers
The Rams are also one Game out play Browns, Ravens, Commanders, Saints
And lastly the Saints play Lions, Panthers, Giants, Rams.
I can see the Seahawks losing 3 outta the 4 Games and making up ground later and going 10-7 to end the Season. It's really a toss up from there for the last spot.
