I have all the respect in the world for Tom Brady, he's the GOAT. But numbers being retired throughout the league is for people with an impact beyond the game only. I don't even like that the NHL did it for Gretzky.

I mean, Gretzky is Hockey's greatest ambassador and the most recognizable hockey player in the world. He singlehandedly brought more eyes on the game of hockey than ever before.

Surely transforming the landscape of the game and smashing every possible record he could accounts for something.

I get it. Just my opinion. Jackie Robinson had an impact beyond not just baseball of sport. Gretzky only impacted hockey. Brady only Football.

But Brady only has the on-field accomplishment and that alone isn't worthy for me.
