Ty Dillon has more lives in NASCAR than a cat does at living. I don't hate the guy but for someone who hasn't shown much potential over the years he sure does somehow end up with rides. Two top 10s in the truck series this year so far. Granted that his ride isn't a proven winner but Matty D did far better in the ride. Speaking of whom, id rather see DiBenedetto get another shot in a cup ride first. Dude did better in his previous two rides than the two people that followed him. So I am hopeful that the Ty Dillon rumor isn't true because Kaulig needs a driver who has proven to be solid in the cup series or even has shown success in the Xfinity Series.
I'm still on vacation, driving home tomorrow, so I probably won't get to see anything.
Ultimately, Ty keeps getting rides because Richard Childers wants him to. They have an "alliance" with Kaulig, though I don't see how two shitty teams having an alliance benefits either side. As long as "pop pop" wants Ty in a ride, he's gonna have a job.
I'd love to see Matty D back at that level, but somehow, he just doesn't have the money behind him. You have to bring so much sponsorship to the table, and for a guy who is so funny and engaging online and with fans, Matt just somehow doesn't bring it.
