Wilson Contreras to the Cardinals on a 5 year deal, that seemed like a natural fit all along so I called that one.

In a lesser move, Red Sox signed Kenley Jansen. I'm iffy on it but he's better than what they had so I'm for it overall. I'm still waiting and praying for Xander back to Boston news. Hopefully that happens today.

MLB needs to fix their shit. It's 12:53AM on a Wednesday Night/Thursday Morning 9:53PM for the West Coast fans. Judge news broke early in the morning on the East Coast on a Wednesday.

As such by the time people are awake and consuming sports news, it's already old news. If there was an official free agency signing period like in the NFL and NBA there'd be a frenzy with the signing period and build excitement for baseball offseason.

After thinking on it a bit, I think Brewers are the big winners of that trade. Contreras has Murphy's power with a good average and as far as I know he's not bad at defense. Plus they got 2 relievers and only had to give up 1 player in the deal who seems like a nobody.
