More teams were definitely needed to determine a true National Champion. I personally think 16 teams would be the magic number. Especially since it's apparent we are going to have super conferences now.

In Georgia, jn high school we used to have only 1 team from each Region go to the playoffs. In the 1080s, you would have a lot of 9-1 and 8-2 teams sitting at home when a 6-4 and 5-5 team won a weak region and got o to the playoffs. We now have 4 teams from each region go to the playoffs,. Yeah that's 32 teams, but there is no way that would work for NCAA, but it gives a good 5-5 team a chance to win.

Yeah I know. I'm happy they're going to 12. That at least gives (or it should) an undefeated team from a smaller conference a chance. The undefeated Boise State and TCU teams were certainly robbed. Also the undefeated Utah team when Urban Myer was the coach would have been interesting.

The undefeated UCF team that claimed a National Title a few years back is actually a recognized national title now. They were legit ranked number one in one of the lesser known poles, and with all the push back (and The Florida Governor at the time signing a memo recognizing the National Title) their banners and rings are legit.

I like the new 12-team format. This will give teams who finish with one loss a good opportunity to get a shot at punching their ticket to the CFP, instead of a team getting robbed in the past by not getting in.

For UCF going undefeated five seasons ago, if the 12-team format would have been in place, they would have definitely been tested if they're for real or if they're chumps. That wouldn't be a case anymore when we get to the new format 4 years from now
