Pockrass also seems to think that Heim is gonna drop back down to the Truck Series. Furthering the speculation that Ty Gibbs won't let his grandpa work with any driver who he's ever had a problem with. Heim and Gibbs were major rivals in the ARCA series, and there's absolutely no convincing me that Heim should be back in trucks based on performance.

Didn't see the Sammy Smith to 8 move coming. Should have though because Dale Jr. has been singing his praises for awhile.

Sammy is bringing Flying J with him, which obviously was a sponsor at JRM for Michael Annett in recent years.

I was hopeful for Jeffrey E. that he would get the ride. Really was. Would have been interesting.

With Heim staying in Trucks, JHN going to Cup and Sammy Smith moving to JRM, it's going to be interesting to see who races for JGR in Xfinity next year. Besides Hamlin and whoever from the Cup series maybe sharing a ride. I can think of a name in my head who I feel like it could be even more possible for him to land in a ride there after the recent Sammy Smith news.

Bayne was supposed to race full time for JGR in 2023, but sponsorship fell through. I could see him landing there.

Apparently I should've started an Xfinity Series Silly Season chart, but with contract details for Cup drivers so hard to track down, Xfinity is even harder. Most of these guys are on year-to-year deals.

Some of the higher end Xfinity guys get "multi-year deals" that allow teams to move them up if they excel, but a lot of lower level drivers go on one-year contracts.

Holy shit
You just know they made an offer of ridiculous money. Only way I see it making sense why Kyle would sell the team. Like the amount where you be a fool to say no.

That has to be the case. 3-4 weeks ago, I saw a thing with him where he was talking about running one full-time truck season after he retired, then splitting the next season with his kid before handing the whole team over to him. Busch is already good financially, but they had to absolutely offer him an insane amount of money.

Wonder if there will be a 3 hour documentary of the one season that KBM drove Chevy's before it was sold off. I am joking.

Surprising news. I was thinking also that Kyle would keep it going until his son made it to the truck series. That's still a long time away though. Other than Kyle doing his usual thing racing in the truck series its been a quiet year for KBM. Chase Purdy didn't make the playoffs. Hopefully Spire ends up being competitive because with GMS Racing going away and KBM being sold off, it does make it seem like the circle of established competitive trucks for next year got smaller.
