Sources: Mets, Scherzer agree to $130M deal

Three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer and the Mets have agreed to a three-year, $130 million contract, sources familiar with the situation told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Dammit, I was hoping he didn't sign for anyone that plays in the Braves' division. Mad Max signing with the Mets is a big acquisition for the team as they really needed an ace to team up with Jacob deGrom on that pitching staff. If they sign another decent pitcher, they can give opposing batters a run for their money that's not named the Braves.

I cannot believe the money spent on players already this off season. The Rangers have been a surprise in the amount of money they spent on 2 players.

Baez gets paid by Detroit surprisingly
Scherzer gets paid big by the Mets. Dude is making almost 60 mil/yr with that contract plus what Washington will be paying him.

You know what my Cubs did? Signed Yan Gomes so they can trade Contrearas. They also signed a guy who can't see well enough to hit a baseball in Clint Frazier. Now I know why I've really hated baseball lately...
