Blackmon, 'a Rockie to his core,' says he'll retire

Four-time All-Star Charlie Blackmon will retire at the end of the season after spending his entire major league career with the Rockies, he announced Monday on Instagram.

As much is it a joy to see my Phillies to celebrate the NL East for the first time in 13 Years I'm locked for them to get the job done. You had 2 Games at Home and you needed to just win one Game to reach the World Series last Season. Great win guys you went through chaos with injuries and kept on flowing but this doesn't mean a thing unless you reach the World Series and win it.

Twins have played some of the worst baseball I've ever seen in the month of September and it's no surprise that they're now on the outside looking in compared to being the potential #5 AL seed three weeks ago.

Thank you Pittsburgh for beating the Brewers tonight locking in a Bye for my Phillies for the Playoffs. Harper surely needs that extra rest he's been aching on that Elbow the past Month or so we are going to need him as healthy he can be when Red October starts.

I don’t know. Sometimes having the bye is a death sentence. The team cools down, while others stay hot.

Yeah it all comes down to the Team but the Pitching needs it as well to figure things out. Suarez has been up and down since coming back from the DL. I have faith though that if theirs a lead the Bullpen has got it in the bag. Pretty much all the guys in there especially Estevez, Matt Strahm, and Hoffman have been on lock pretty much all Season. Alvardo could be shaky at times but when he's locked in as well you ain't touching him. Last Season the Team couldn't get a win at Home in 2 Games to reach the World Series again. They'll need to right the wrongs of last Season and understand the moment and not try to hit that Home Run rather get that Single or Double to get momentum started for their Offense. Remember last Season they were smacking Home Runs left and right like the Dbacks were and they got cold in a hurry late in that Series. You cannot allow that to happen again in these Playoffs.
