No no, you said "it is" and I didnt know what you meant by that.

Fair enough.

Once again, never said you cant enjoy it but you aren't enjoying it from a full perspective. Would you disagree?

Yeah I do. Who are you to tell me that I am not getting the full experience? Who are you to dictate what the full experience is?

Nothing personal, but you're nobody, and you don't get to dictate to anybody what the full experience is.

Because the fans are part of the reason people get so involved. Not you, but a lot of other people. What is more dramatic. An empty arena with Hulk Hogan getting beat down and coming back or 40,000 people pleading for him to get up?

I could care less. It makes no difference to me. That is what you aren't getting here.

You are 100% right, maybe there is more to it than you or I can see however how can you deny that if once person can see something from only one perspective and another can see the same thing from 2 perspectives, that the one seeing it through two different perspectives has a more rounded perspective? If I see a square from the left and the right side an you only see it from the left, who has a wider perspective?

I understand that, but why didnt you answer my question?

You may have the wider perspective but it doesn't make you any more right.

I understand that, but why didnt you answer my question?

Because it makes no difference to me and therefore I can't answer because I don't care. If I had a preference I could answer and argue a particular position, but i don't think it matters either way.

No it doesnt make me right, but you cant deny that having a wider perspective opens a person up to more (but not always right) information.

So you think Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant in an empty Pontiac Silver Dome is as dramatic as the same match when the crowd is jammed to the rafters.

Sure, I won't diagree with that, and I appreciate the fact that you are more prone to getting bad info.

It's not always BAD. In fact the information isnt every really "bad" in that information is only as bad as the way you use it. Say I took Hogan/Andre from a totally what some would call "mark" perspective. From that one would infer that "well shit Hogan must be the strongest man in the world." But I dont think Ive ever said anything that dumb. :badmood:

Wow well fair enough I suppose. Can you explain why that doesnt matter to you?

Because like I said earlier. I'm not there to listen to teh fans chant and scream. Most of the time I find them to be idiots so I tune them out. Besides its what's in teh ring that matters to me. Nothing else.

But you know psychology plays a part right? I mean when you hear someone pleading chanting HOGAN HOGAN, how can you deny thats a big part of the psychology of the match?

First of all, we have to realize that wrestling is long go from being sports anymore, it is all about Sports Entertainment, and that is going to happen all the time. And yeah, I am including ROH in there, because there is no way ROH will get, with their current formula, to the most important audience out there, kids, teenagers and their parents.

Then, when you see WWE, or nowadays TNA, you can be all serious and technical saying: "That move wouldn't hurt" or "Damn, he didn't even touch him, what a farse". You know is false, but do you matter? Do you really matter? When you saw a match like Hogan vs The Rock, did you spend the whole match saying "Look at Hogan, he can take a good bump". It is all about your emotions, and what do you feel watching wrestling.

I agree with Kaedon, with Sports Entertainment nowadays, you have to suspend disbelief. In real life a guy like Mysterio cannot even beat Chavo. but yet in WWE he beats JBL. Yeah, the storyline sucked, and Mysterio shouldn't even be champion, but still, if you suspended disbelief, you would have seen a humilliated little man that was fighting for his honor.

So yeah, there are moments to be a Smark, but mostly in Wrestling you have to change your view and see it with another set of mind

Good thread. I'm gonna agree, cause I hate how the smarks always bitch about how shitty a show was or why little guys aren't getting pushed enough, then when one of them do(rey),they get shit on. And I've always liked the faces better, mostly these days with guys like Lashley& Cena having to work harder then heels to get over.

Hey Kaedon.
We have had problems in the past but this thread is very good.
It has completely opened my mind to a new perspective of wrestling.

I loved the good old days when i hated kurt angle and his stupid small ears.
Or i was happy too see Rikishis head bloodied and smashed from Stone Cold Steve Austin in a cage match.
Evan last year at a house show, My brother was there. I CHEERED BATISTA!
M.R Kennedy came down and made fun of my country.
I love Mr Kenndey but i didnt care. It was just to fun too watch Batista waste him

I like JBL. Hes a mean, cool, bad ass. So i cheer him. "Evan if hes not that good of a wrestler and didnt derserve his push"

Im going too try harder too injoy the show.

BUT!

How can i injoy the show when they keep making the show feel fake and scripted?
Its hard too watch Cena winning the belt back over and over.
Not becuase he doesnt have many moves. ITS NOT CREDIBLE!
The Great Kahli as a champoin does not bother me.
THe great Kahli is a believerble wrestler. But in real life you cant keep winning for a whole year out of chance. Or, "Over coming the odds" as WWE calls it.
Batista does not bother that much any more.
Hes a strong guy, and he didnt have long title runs.

Any way good thread. I think it should be stickied.
