I like the basic ideas but it seems so easy to book themselves into a corner. Especially if they are going to be bringing in independent guys who might not always be available and not sign them to contracts.

It's interesting, a fine idea, but it should be like always an extreme rules match instead of always a three man match imo

Extreme rules in the X division?

Isn't the X Division supposed to be about high flying and breathtaking athleticism? Not beating each other over the head with objects.

Yeah, it's like you said but an extreme rules match is like a three men match is the same than a extreme rules match but with three men

But why involve Extreme Rules in the X Division? It makes no sense to me to have people who should be showcasing athleticism and the peak of human conditioning to just go about beating each other with objects instead.

I know, but making it a three way match is almost the same... Maybe the best thing could be without giving the champ that advantage he has

I agree that making all matches three ways limits them alot. It puts limits on a division that is supposed to be No limits.

I posted these tweets in the discussion thread last night while everything was going on, but at the time just wound up leaving confused as to how exactly it would play out and what it would mean for everyone involved:

IMPACT WRESTLING ?@IMPACTWRESTLING 14h
New X-Division Rules! Every X-Division match will take place in a triple threat match! 230 pound weight limit. High stakes in each match!

IMPACT WRESTLING ?@IMPACTWRESTLING 14h
Winner of fall in X-Division Title match is champion. Loser of fall is "eliminated" from next title match and must earn his way back in!

IMPACT WRESTLING ?@IMPACTWRESTLING 14h
X-Division Title Contenders match will take place with loser of the title match and two new contenders... winner gets in next title match

IMPACT WRESTLING ?@IMPACTWRESTLING 14h
It's all about WINNING in the X-Division. You LOSE and you fall. Not pinned, you live to fight another day!

Was hoping to get some clarification on how this works out and what it meant for King, Zema and Dutt. Started reading through this thread hoping to shed some light on it, but then stopped reading and started skimming when it went off on a tangent. So, @"Senhor Perfect" , what you posted is the correct way in which these matches will take place?

I think so. That's the way I've interpreted it.

Instead of the triple threat rule I think I would have borrowed from ROH's old Pure division. Maybe the 20 counts when outside of the ring or the limited rope brakes.

UPDATE

TNA sent out the following today…

The X-Division is evolving! New Rules Announced! 230lb Weight Limit!

All X-Division championship matches will now be held under triple threat rules. The champion will have two challengers at the same time and has a thirty-three percent chance of retaining the title and runs the risk of losing the title without being pinned. The high-stakes title match has consequences for the challengers as well. The wrestler pinned in the X-Division championship match is eliminated from a future title match while the wrestler who isn’t involved in the decision gets to compete in the next X-Division title match. So where will the next contender come from?

New contenders will be also decided via a Triple Threat match. Fresh faces, former champions or recently eliminated contenders all will battle with one winner advancing into the next X-Division title match.

Looks like I was slightly off. If you get pinned in the title match you're out of everything for the time being. @GrammarNazi82

Remember when they brought back the weight limit and dropped it randomly again? Yeah I see this happening again.

I can see them be forgotten yeah. I'm sure they can run these rules for a while but somewhere down the road they will either be dropped or forgotten in favor of other concepts/matches.
