Okay...so today I'm watching:

Ricky Steamboat vs. Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship
from WrestleWar 1989
on a recommendation from a good friend of mine.

And like I normally do...I'll be taking some notes...
~ The commentary is great...
~ That opening "Chop Frenzy" was pretty intense...
~ Steamboat has a fantastic armdrag...
~ I like how Steamboat is focusing on the arm...
~ Those chops are so loud...fucking ouch!
~ That guardrail isn't protecting anyone...
~ Jesus Steamboat is quick...
~ Those repeated pinning attempts were interesting...
~ The crowd is right into this match...
~ Knee Injury!
~ Figure Four!
~ Wow...Steamboat was in that for a long time...
~ And that pin came out of nowhere...I didn't see that coming...
~ I miss "the Big Gold Belt" Charlotte should wear that the next time
she becomes a Champion. Seriously that would be Awesome!
~ Pyros!
~ Hey...a young(er) Jim Ross...
~ Terry Funk...this is interesting...
~ And post match attack by Terry Funk! That no good bastard!
~ And the table didn't break for the piledriver spot...well...
I going to blame Sasha Banks!

All in All...this truly was an absolute classic with both men
showing amazing endurance & fantastic in-ring chemistry.

One of the best examples of no-selling being fantastic in the right places. Loved Bull getting fed up with Toyota and just kicking the shit out of her. great speed Vs power match.

Just saw the Bobby Roode and Charlotte Flair vs Asuka and The Miz for the Mixed Match challenge. It was entertaining and I enjoyed it. Only match I saw from that special currently too.

Okay...so today I'm watching:

Ric Flair vs. Sting for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship
from the Great American Bash 1990.

I wanted to watch Flair vs. Sting from Clash of the Champions 1988...
but I couldn't find it...so I went with this match instead.

And like I normally do...I'll be taking some notes...
~ This is the first time I have ever seen "Surfer" Sting...(Is that the right term?)
~ His entrance theme is pretty sweet...
~ And there are too many side attractions before the match even starts...
~ The "Dudes with Attitude" is a LAME name...
~ Sting's head looks like a box...
~ That high entrance ramp is weird...
~ Flair's hair is amazing...
~ The crowd is right into the match...
~ The match story is solid...Sting had the early advantage...but Flair turns
the tables by targeting the knee...
~ Sting uses the Figure Four on Flair...
~ Whenever I see Nick Patrick I can't help but think of Starrcade 1997...
~ I'm not a big fan of Sting (or anybody really) "No Selling"
~ Scorpion Deathlock! & now there is a fight on the ramp...
~ I've honestly never liked the way Sting applies the Deathlock...he doesn't
cinch it in deep enough...
~ And Sting gets the win by countering the Figure Four into a small package
& the crowd goes fucking wild!
~ And a cool post match promo from the Stinger.

All in All...it was a very fast paced, energetic match that honestly was a little
overbooked...but the crowd more than made up for it. I can see why Sting
was so over "back in the day" & Flair...well...he's Ric Flair.

One of Kana's, now Asuka, best rivalries in Japan.

An amazingly great match featuring Kairi Hojo, Kairi Sane in NXT, and Io Shirai.

Okay...so I watched:

Austin Aries (c) vs. Pentagon Jr. vs. Fenix for the Impact World Championship
from the Redemption Pay Per View...

~ The crowd is kind of small for this...I feel a match like this deserves a bigger stage...
~ I actually think Austin Aries looks like an idiot with all those belts...
~ There is no need for that cape Fenix...
~ Pentagon still may have the coolest look of any wrestler I've ever seen...
~ The action is fast & frantic...
~ Fenix struggled with some of his "Rope Dancing" during this match...
~ I'm happy for Austin Aries...he deserved more than just being on 205 Live...
~ Pentagon went for the Arm Snap! Fenix stopped it!
~ I'm having Lucha Underground flashbacks here...
~ And Pentagon went over the guardrail...
~ 450 Splash by Aries!
~ Wow...Pentagon hit a Gory Driver & a Package Piledriver at the same time!
~ Arm Snap on Aries!
~ And a Pentagon Driver to finish him off & a 1, 2, 3! Nice...
~ And a nice show of sportsmanship between Pentagon & Fenix...

Wow...that was a great match with all 3 guys looking sharp as a razor.

And I'm Done...

Okay...so I just watched (for the 1st time):

Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Randy Orton in a Punjabi Prison Match
for the WWE Championship from Battleground 2017
& of
course I have some notes...because that's what I do...

~ So the structure itself is extremely strange...but in a way...kind of cool.
~ There are too many weird rules with doors & time limits...it should have
simply been a thunderdome-like bamboo cage structure...perhaps keep
the two cage idea but get rid of all the doors & time limits...
~ It must have been a nightmare for the cameramen to film...
~ I think this match could have been more entertaining if it would have
been a triple threat match...I mean it was the third Mahal/Orton main
event in 3 pay per views...so everyone was basically done with this match
before it even started...
~ I actually respect Mahal & Orton for at least trying to put on the best
match they could...& Orton shed some blood which I'll always respect.
~ The Singh Brothers also deserve props for providing the match with
a couple of great spots...
~ 28 minutes was way TOO LONG...especially considering it was their
third match in as many pay per views...
~ The Great Khali showing up was...weird? I mean I understand why...
but still...it seemed kind of random.

So originally I was happy to see Jinder win the WWE title...and I actually
really enjoyed the Mahal/Orton match from Backlash...especially the finish...

BUT...(Zelina Vega's Butt)...

The WWE kept the title on Jinder for way too long & choked the life out
of SDL in the process. It was also a mistake to have Nakamura be the
next victim after Orton in Jinder's overly long reign.

This match however...was incredibly strange, overly long & slower than
turtle taking a shit...but I can kind of respect it for that.

I said respect...not like.

If they ever book another one...put 4 guys inside of it & make the structure
easier to break. You could do something really entertaining with that.

:emoji_thinking:

Imagine Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, Jinder Mahal & Jeff Hardy in
that match.

So I'm watching...

Aerostar vs. Drago from the Impact Redemption Pay Per View...
~ So its the opening match of the show...so the crowd is hot...
~ Its strange seeing these two fight outside of "The Temple" but they
can clearly put on a great match even without the post match editing.
~ The commentators are annoying...
~ Man...that corner was causing trouble for everyone all night...
~ And a very botchy finish...but Aerostar gets the win with a springboard
codebreaker.
