The Little Mermaid(2023)

Apoho Creed

Making Love to my Demons

Never had The Little Mermaid in my Top 10 Disney Animated Films or my go to Films when it came to Cartoons growing up but I did get major chills watching that Trailer.

Disney don't learn....these remakes are all garbage.

I try watch them with all my grandson and he doesn't care, I put the cartoon version on and he watches.

These remakes are strictly for people my age.....and it's disgusting.

Nostalgia is a disease.

Listen what we are not going to do is what I'm seeing in these Threads. I'm the type of person to give everything a chance or watch and if I don't like it I move on. I think Nostalgia can be a powerful thing if they give us a great Story and have a Director who grabs us to watch wanna see the Film or TV Show. I wanna see all these Live Action Films adaptations be successful but if they don't I still have the Animated Versions to enjoy anytime I want.

I'm all for the remakes, I don't care what the haters gotta say.

Holy shit dude.....you ever point out when someone likes something?
You seem to bitch about remakes alright. I mean, is there one remake that you actually like?

Yes not everybody will like it, but hey, Disney's making tons of money. So it's a win-win.

Remakes are hacky and lazy....there's literally thousands of years of content Disney could steal or "adapt" and come out with something "new".

But just redoing their own shit over and over is just insulting to the intelligence of their customers.

So they "make money"? Not really go back and look at their box office on these remakes....outside of Lion King most of these just break even. And if making money is what makes it ok....bring back Vince McMahon to write wrestling.

Aladdin made over 1 billion too. But besides the point… they don’t keep remaking their shit over and over. They literally remake it one time lmao. They take their animated films and turn them live action. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s really cool seeing these classic properties with real people on real sets. Now I’ll agree they haven’t all been great but that doesn’t really affect how each individual one will be perceived. If you hire the right people it should work. Lin Manuel Miranda is writing music for the little mermaid and he’s the GOAT so I’m thinking this one is gonna be good.

Sorry to burst people's bubbles. But remakes =/= automatically bad movies. Bad remakes = bad movies.

The Thing, The Fly, Scarface, True Grit, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Cape Fear, Evil Dead, Maltese Falcon, All Quiet on the Western Front, Little Shop of Horrors, Casino Royale, Magnificent Seven, Nosferatu The Vampyre, 3:10 to Yuma, Heat, The Jungle Book (yes. The live action remake was extremely well received), The Man Who Knew Too Much, A Fistful of Dollars (a remake of Yojimbo), Scent of a Woman, Let Me In, etc.

Just a small list of some of the most acclaimed and beloved remakes of all time. So yeah. What do I know? I just watch movies and study analytics all day in my free time. :draper2
