Just finished the Pilot Episode and I wanna ask of the first Episode how much of that stuff was apart of the Game? The build to where the World is in 2023 I was all for showing what about to Joel and his Daughter. I knew the calm before the Storm was coming but it didn't change the fact of my heart hurting for him with his Daughter dying in his Arms. Now Joel has a new journey on his hands with Ellie getting to where she needs to go and it's going to be have my heart in pieces I know it.

The truck scene was almost a shot for shot of the game.

Sara getting shot by that National Guardsmen was shot for shot.

Alot of easter eggs throughout the episode, but they added and showed things that were only implied in the game, so that alone will keep my interest since I completed everything to do in the game.

Finished the first episode. Very excited for the show. Never played any of the games and my heart dropped when the daughter was shot.

Just amazing then. Even the final shot of Joel, Ellie, and Tess running away from that Fedra guy and you see those Buildings and the scenery of the World just fucked had me shook. I didn't even look at any of the Preview for this Weekend I don't want to spoiled of anything going into Episode 2.

I've never played the Game and don't know much about it, but I was hooked in by this first episode from the opening scene onwards. The world it set up and so of the themes, aloneside the quality of the casting and how strong the characters were. Sara was a little gem of a character (good actress too), loved the back and fourth with her Joel. I'm hoping we get a bit more of her in flashbacks since what happened is so personal and linked to Joel's new mission. As a big Fringe fan its great to see Anna Torv. The episode was so powerful, stylish and also truly tense and scary at times.

Already this is looking like a contender for show of the year.

I think my favorite part of the entire episode was the injected humor at the beginning of it. To me that humor alone was showing what the division in the "previous" world was compared to the shitty world it is now. Not only that but it showed that Joel wasn't a miserable piece of shit prior to the change of the world so it shows how far he's already from that and that divide, I assume, will grow even more as time goes along.

I have never played the game, and didn't really know anything about it. Anyway, I watched the first episode yesterday on HBO Max and I will definitely be watching the ne xt one.

I love how the show is not completely base don the video game but based on it's own entity. Just got done watching the Pilot Episode and my god it crazy already. Dark and twisted which got my fully hyper. My favorite part of the Pilot is the young girl finding out what is really going on in the city at the moment. Joel is my favorite dude so far. Sad moment is that there is a death in the middle of the episode.

They actually did the Clickers justice, and Joel used up all his revolver ammo on two.....noob.

Well shit, thought Tess was lasting atleast one more episode

Adding the spores being interconnected with the infected (bars) thus allowing them to instantly know where the non infected are was a great swerve.
