Meh, if you gentlemen liked it, more power to you.

Hilarious, Savage/Steamboat, Angle/Benoit, Joe/Angle, Sting/Flair, etc dont get five stars, but this does. Guess we grading on Special Olympic standards nowadays.

I have to ask, did you watch it?

Those matches surely are amazing and some do deserve 5 stars also.

They would have in 2020 after he broke his scale :bosque but I do think he's retroactively rated some older matches differently, just not very many of them and not famous ones? Which is odd

I would watch it before you judge it and form your own opinion of it.

Sorry bro. Thought I responded earlier, got busy.

Yeah, I saw it. Ending kills it for me, even without that, I still wouldn't have given it a five star rating.

I would watch it before you judge it and form your own opinion of it.

Unlike the majority of the folks who post in the political thread, I base my opinions on what I see and not on what the popular Twitter trend is.

This being my Jim Cornette Appreciation thread, he shares a similar opinion and had an epic rant, so it went here.

Yo Chris, so you saying some of the older matches have been rated again? So does balding buck still have more four star matches than anyone in history still? Even Misawa?

I don't think he's even re-rated big matches like Misawa/Kobashi or any of his previous 5 stars. The only one I know for sure was like an early 90s Japanese match that "broke his scale" way back then and he had given over 5 stars, but I guess chickened out on that until the 2010s, so he retroactively recognized his original rating. I THINK he's re-rated some others but if he did they weren't matches I can think of off the top of my head

Everyone likes and dislikes are going to be different. I'm not a fan of modern pro wrestling. I understand that a lot of people on the internet still like the current product. However, I won't go into the threads here and crap all over a product that people enjoy. That would be a dick move for me to do. However, I got me a Jim Cornette Appreciation thread, where we agree on... just wrestling. He would probably block me if I was on Twitter.

I don't much care about ratings anyway. I operate on the 1-2-3 scale similar to women attractiveness instead of the conventional five stars or out of 10 ratings.

1- didn't enjoy, trash
2- solid, good match
3 - fuckin' awesome man

I should probably just stop paying attention to the star rating myself. To me, its lost a lot of its luster in recent years. I guess i still have 1980s JCP and WWF. I miss the old school grappling style and ring psychology many wrestlers used back then. Remember how Bret Hart, Flair, or Martel used to wear out their opponents lower extremities before locking on their submissions? Those were the days.

No I don't remember because I was born in 1996, but I watch them very regularly on my handy WWE Network for $9.99 per month :kobe3
