Episode 19: Grave Consequences (Is that a Misfits song?)

~ After a quick recap to open...and we cut to inside the temple where a band is "rocking" the crowd...lol

~ Our opening match is the 3rd match in the best of 5 series between Drago & Aerostar...and if its anything
like their earlier matches then this should be a great watch.

~ Hot Ring Announcer is Smoking Hot!

*Watches Match*

~ And Aerostar gets his second victory in the series and it was another excellent match.

~ We get another Konnan vignette and...it does appear to be building towards something...I just don't know what.

~ The next match is the Crew taking on Big Ryck in a 3 on 1 no DQ elimination match...and I is curious to see if
my bae Sexy Star shows up...I mean its no DQ so she can if she wants to.
~ And the crowd is totally behind big Ryck for this one...

*Watches Match*

~ Bael falls first...followed by Cortez...and Cisco tries to run from the fight like a little bitch...but Oh...look look...
its Sexy Star! Just what I wanted! Yay!

13368520_f520.jpg

*Sigh*

And she send Cisco all the way down the temple stairs back to the ring...nice!

~ And then Big Ryck opens Cisco up and...Holy Shit...A Urinagi Slam onto/through a steel chair...and Big Ryck
gets the victory with Sexy cheering him on...Nice! I can't believe I'm starting to like Big Ryck...who would have thought?

~ Its announced that the next episode will feature two title matches...Alberto El Patron vs. Texano for the AAA title in a
Bull Rope Match and Puma vs. Cage in a Boyle Heights Street Fight for the Lucha Underground title...Damn...that's
going to make for some intense in-ring action.

~ And now its time for the Casket Match as Fenix once again battles Mil Muertes...and the Day of the Dead entrance is
fantastic...that was a great touch.
~ And Fenix makes his entrance with the Catrina...and Mil attacks full force out of the gate!

*Watches Match*

~ Okay...that was simply amazing to watch. Blood, biting, a torn mask, high flying moves, Catrina getting hit but getting back
up, fighting all over the temple...God Damn this show is great. Fenix gets the win...but is this truly the last we will see Mil Muertes?

I hope not...

Highlights: The Main Event Casket Match, Sexy Star, Drago vs. Aerostar Rd.3...

Lowlight: None! Not one low point from start to finish...

All in All...Sweet Raptor Jesus that casket match was amazing...throw in Big Ryck getting his revenge with help from Sexy Star and
another great Drago/Aerostar encounter...and...what more can I say...this show is awesome!

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

So I'm half way through Season 1 of Lucha Underground and I've decided to do a short recap of what I've
seen so far.

~ The production values and editing are 1st rate and give the show a very cinematic feel.
~ The show is restricted by the time they are allowed and location they film in...but the writers and performers
make the best of it.
~ The quality of the wrestling is very high across the board with only a couple of performers looking a little
awkward and lost at times. I understand the editing helps that a lot...and I'm okay with that.
~ The temple setting (while small and somewhat dingy) has a great "Grindhouse style" atmosphere and look
and the crowd is so close to the action that they are basically a part of it.
~ The commentary is solid with Striker & Vampiro forming a great team and Vampiro's sit down interviews with
the performers are always great to watch for character development and motivations.
~ The backstage segments, vignettes and interviews are an excellent way to develop all the performers as
characters and I really wish the WWE would see this and use their "massive" production budgets to develop
their performers the same way.

So...let me run through the roster in (rough) order of appearance and give some brief thoughts on each of them.

Matt Striker: I never heard Matt on commentary in WWE but he does a great job with Lucha Underground and
he forms a great 2 man team with...

Vampiro: really adds a cool factor to the commentary that WWE & TNA both sorely lack. I remember watching
him wrestle in WCW and seeing/hearing him again in this kind of roll is great.

Melissa Santos: A truly beautiful woman with a lovely voice...she's always a pleasure to see and hear.

santos2015_zpspwhql0us.jpg

Dario Cueto: This guy is excellent with true acting talent and a clear vision of what kind of character he's playing.
I don't like the guy...but he doesn't seem completely evil. That may change of course...

Blue Demon Jr.: I'm actually kind of disappointed Blue Demon didn't stick around after he scored his revenge on
Chavo...but...you can't have everyone you want.

Chavo Guerrero Jr.: Another familiar face who really earned my hatred early in the season. At the time of me
writing this he fled from the temple...but I'm guessing he'll be back.

Konnan: It is just awesome to see Konnan again. He was one of my favorite NWO members back in the day and
his acting/promo skills are great to watch.

Sexy Star: Wow...just wow. I love Sexy Star...and while I know she isn't the best technical wrestler in the world...
she has passion, fire and drive. She is my Bae! (Just don't tell Charlotte I said that)
DlOqM1Jk-600x400.jpg

Son Of Havoc: Jobber of Havoc is an interesting one. He clearly has great ring skills...but I find his appearance
kind of boring...plus at this point in the series...he's pretty much been booked as a jobber. He does have an
extremely hot girlfriend...so points for that.

Johnny Mundo: Now I never saw Johnny in WWE...but he truly is a joy to watch and has a great balanced style
being able to both wrestle and fly with the best of them. A true A-Grade player.

Prince Puma: So yeah...this guy could be one of the best workers I've ever seen. Every thing he does has a
certain grace about it and he truly flies like a bird. I understand why they put the title on him in Aztec Warfare.

Ivelisse: Now I have to be honest...Ivelisse is one of the best all round female performers I've ever seen...and
damn...the girl has a fantastic backside. Yummy! Shame she's been paired up with Jobber of Havoc.

14d7cef3f0c70e89-600x400.jpg

Catrina: Pure sex appeal in high heals...this lady is beautiful and slightly scary. Her love triangle with Mil Muertes
& Fenix has been entertaining and slightly creepy...but I'd let her give me a lick...if you know what I mean.

e4356c492ca9c9c0ec6db79e75c44d5d.jpg

Mil Muertes: An absolute tank early on...his breaking relationship with Catrina seems to have killed his momentum
and I'm not a big fan of him putting his hands on Catrina.

El Mariachi Loco: He has skills...but he basically serves as a jobber. Not much to say.

Mascarita Sagrada: Okay...so this guy has moves for days and is entertaining to watch...but...I really don't like seeing
him get roughed up by the...larger performers.

Ricky Mandel: Another "Jobber" making up the numbers...Next!

Drago: Sweet skills combined with a sick look...this guy is one of my favorites.

Pentagon Jr.: Possibly the coolest looking wrestler I've seen since the debut of Kane in WWE...this guy looks the part
and has the skills and aggression to back it up.

Fenix: Second only to Puma in my opinion...Fenix is like a taller, more-skilled Kalisto. He has some great offensive
moves and the rope skipping he does is simply amazing to watch.

King Cuerno: So I have to admit I wasn't that biggest fan when I first saw this guy...but episode by episode he really
grew on me as a performer. His body language and ring movements remind me of Randy Orton and I really like his
finisher. One of my favorites...

Big Ryck: Now I will admit...his wrestling skills aren't exactly "exciting" to watch...but he seemed to step up to another
level after the eye burning attack by the Crew.

Pimpinela Escarlata: Now I have to admit...I never expected Lucha Underground to have their own version of Goldust...
but they do...and its fine I guess.

Famous B: Another "Jobber" making up the numbers...Next!

Super Fly: I don't really want to use the term "Jobber" for this guy...but he hasn't done anything of note yet. He's solid...
just nothing special.

Cage: So this guy seems like a throwback to the 80's with his look and wrestling skills...but he is also very agile for his
size. I want to say he reminds me of Ryback...but I don't really have many memories of Ryback.

The Crew ~ Cortez Castro, Mr. Cisco & Bael: While they look like 3 street thugs...these guys actually have solid ring
skills and some great flowing tag team moves. I hate them as characters...but I'm supposed to...so they are doing their
jobs well.

Aerostar: I thought he was going to be used like Super Fly...but his recent matches with Drago have been awesome.
He does look a tiny bit silly in my opinion.

Argenis: Same as Super Fly...he's slick...but he hasn't done anything noteworthy as of me writing this.

Angelico: So this guy sticks out like a sore thumb. He's South African, he looks like a motocross racer and he's a very
tall drink of water. His ring skills are great...but I'm not really sure how he'll be used in the future.

Black Lotus: I can't really say at the moment...I mean she's beautiful and has some acting chops...but will she actually
step into the ring?

Alberto El Patron: I honestly haven't seen enough of Alberto to have an opinion on the guy. He's a big name...but his
in-ring style might be too...normal and slow for Lucha Underground.

Texano: See my above statement on Alberto...

Vinny Massaro: Another "Jobber" making up the numbers...Next!

And that about covers my thoughts on the roster...

And now I think I'll list my 5 favorite Matches so far...

1). Episode 3 Main Event Triple Threat Match: Fenix vs. Drago vs. Pentagon Jr:
A great match that served as my introduction to these 3 high flying performers.

2). Episode 9 The Aztec Warfare Match: Everyone vs. Everyone:
Hey WWE...Lucha Underground puts on a better rumble than you do!

3). Episode 11 Main Event Last Luchador Standing Match: King Cuerno vs. Drago:

I really enjoyed their feud and this match ended it in brutal style.

4). Episode 18 Main Event Cage Match: King Cuerno vs. Johnny Mundo:

This is possibly the best "standard" cage match I've ever seen.

5). Episode 19 Main Event Casket Match: Fenix vs. Mil Muertes:

Possibly one of the most brutal matches I've ever seen...5 out of 5 from me!

Well...That's my halfway Season 1 Recap...I'm sure the characters and matches are
only going to get better from here so stay tuned as I continue my episode by episode Season 1 overview.

Thanks for your time and be sure to leave a comment or your opinion...but please avoid posting spoilers.

I mis this show so much reading this... For a few thoughts...

-Aztec Warfare I is likely my favorite wrestling show I've seen, largely because it really brought this show to the point where all these backstage segments are things you need to pay attention to...
-Spoiler for season 2: Between the seasons, El Rey put in a message to cover up some of the cleavage on this show. :downer: Speaking of, we are were right with you on Melissa Santos. Episode 1 she was cute <3... Episode 10 she was AMAZING.... Episode 15 she was mesmerizing!
-The Crew are really good as the original Revival of sorts. Just solid enough in the ring to keep the match exciting while we pop for the big spots. Quality heel work, that is.
-I don't know what New Japan and ROH are doing with Ricochet. After watching him carry Lucha Underground as the best silent ace ever, seeing him as tag match filler elsewhere is sad. He's AWESOME
-Speaking of, I remember the days when John Morrison has no charisma
-That damn casket match though. BEST. THING. EVER.
-Non-spoiler, but expect to really be captivated by some people you totally no-sold during this recap. :)
-Fenix and Pentagon are wonderful... but Cage really grew to be so much more. Freaking moonsaults outside of the ring at THAT SIZE!? Hey it beats Weapon X... lol

Glad ya enjoyed it! :yay: Maybe you can binge-watch the rest while some LuchaMania show is airing stateside. ;)

I'm back...I took a little break...but now back to the Lucha!

Episode 20: The Art of War (Is a good read I've heard)

~ Well...I'm curious how this episode compares to the last one...that was a stormer.

~ We open with Angelico vs. Jobber of Havoc with the bootylicious Ivelisse in his corner.

*Watches Match*

~ And its a solid match with Ivelisse screaming loud at ringside...and Jobber of Havoc grabs
a mic and dumps Ivelisse...WTF?! Are you kidding me?! and Jobber of Havoc actually gets the
win...well...I guess I'll finally start calling him Son of Havoc again. And Ivelisse kicks Angelico in
the head to keep this "storyline" going.

~ We now cut to the office set where Dario Cueto is signing some performer named Hernandez.
Now I've never seen this guy before...but hopefully he's a good wrestler.

~ Next up is the bull rope match for the AAA Mega Championship with Alberto El Patron vs. Texano.
Hopefully its better than their first match.

*Watches Match*

~ And Alberto gets the win to retain the championship slapping on an armbar while hanging halfway
outside the ring. It was a solid match...and it was much better than their first encounter.

~ Now a backstage segment with Prince Puma, Konnan & Hernandez and its okay I guess...not much
to talk about.

~ Main Event time with the Boyle Heights Street Fight for the Lucha Underground Championship...and
before the match Dario Cueto introduces the new LU title belt...and it looks glorious.

*Watches Match*

~ Its a brutal fight with some great spots including another beautiful shooting star press by Puma and
some brutal power moves by Cage...but...Cage started acting like an idiot late in match by not pinning
Puma when he had the chance...and of course Konnan & Hernandez were involved in the finish with
Konnan putting that new metal cane to good use.
~ I'm very pleased Puma retained and the new title is extremely sexy.

Highlights: Ivelisse, Another epic shooting star press by Puma, both champions retaining their titles...

Lowlight: The show was nowhere near as good as episode 19...

All in All...A solid show...but episode 19 was just so strong anything after it was going to seem like a let down.

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episode 21: Uno! Dos! Tres! (That's the start of an Offspring song right?)

~ We open with the standard LU recap...

~ Dario Cueto is in his office and he's joined by Big Ryck with Killshot & the Mack...Nice...some new faces.
Killshot looks like an African-American Bulleye.
~ And we also get the introduction of the Trio Tag Team Titles and the tournament to crown the first
champions. Nice...I loves me a tournament.
~ Yes Dario...best you hand over some cash...lol

~ The opening match is Angelico vs. Johnny Mundo...and I'm really curious about this one. Hopefully
Angelico can finally cut loose.

*Watches Match*

~ Well...it was a very entertaining match...but...I would rather have seen Angelico win...yes...I'm all about
pushing the younger talent...even in Lucha Underground.

~ We now get an exposition segment narrated by Black Lotus...and it reminds me of a scene out of Kill Bill...
which was no doubt inspired by some movie or TV show I've never seen.

~ We now go backstage for a scene with Johnny Mundo & Alberto El Patron...and you can just feel the
sexual tension...lol...I'm kidding of course...we Alberto likes women half his age.

~ Now we are in Dario's office again...and oh...look look...its Sexy Star!

773e63c4c0ef652dfec26b2354a2a01d.jpg

*Sigh*

And she's wearing jeans...HOT!

~ So Dario is teaming Sexy up with Super Fly & Pentagon Jr. to take on Big Ryck, The Mack & Killshot...
and I believe Super Fly is the weak link in this match.
~ Sexy didn't say anything...What's up with that? She did look good though...Hell...she always look good.

~ Okay...so now we finally get another match with Drago taking on Aerostar for the 4th time in the best of
5 series. Drago needs this win...let's watch...

*Watches Match*

~ And Drago gets the win with a unique roll up pin...that was awsome. The series is now tied up 2 a piece...
the 5th match will decide the winner.

~ Back to Dario's office once again and its time for a chat with Son of Havoc, Ivelisse & Angelico...and their
being made into a trios team for the tournament...oh this should be a lot of fun...lol

~ And now its time for the trios tag match as Big Ryck, The Mack & Killshot take on the team of...oh...look look...
its Sexy Star!

*Sigh*

God she looks good in her ring gear tonight...

Shame Super Fly is hanging around during her entrance...lame!

~ And here comes the coolest looking wrestler I have seen since the original Kane ...Pentagon Jr...
Damn he looks awesome. We still haven't had any word on who his "master" is...but I can wait.

*Watches Match*

~ Wow...the Mack has some moves...he reminds me of Big E...
~ The crowd is behind Pentagon 110%...
~ And Killshot just chopped Sexy right in the cleavage!!! Dude...WTF?!

tumblr_nm8jgmKmIt1sbzhteo1_400.gif

~ And Pentagon throws Sexy up onto Killshot's shoulders for a top rope frankensteiner...
that was fucking awesome!!! I wish someone would throw Sexy at me like that...lol
~ Well...Big Ryck, the Mack & Killshot get the victory...and Pentagon goes for the shoulder
snapper...but Sexy saves Super Fly...and I'm now worried about future events.

Highlights: Sexy Star, The moves of the Mack, Drago wins and Pentagon continues to be a bad mofo...

Lowlight:
Honestly...none really...

All in All...a good episode with the start of the trios tournament and some new talent looking sharp.

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episode 22: Mask vs. Mask (Oh God...not a sequel to the Jim Carey film I hope)

~ Opening Recap...

~ We now witness a meeting between Dario Cueto, Konnan & Puma in that great office set. The new
Lucha Underground title is sexy as hell I have to say and I'm glad Puma is still the champion. It seems
he'll be fighting in the trios tournament and needs to find a couple of partners.

~ Wow...we are getting Puma vs. King Cuerno tonight for the title...Nice!

~ Our first match is a trios tournament match with Son of Havoc, Ivelisse & Angelico taking on Drago,
Aerostar & Fenix...Oh Dear...this is going to get messy.

~ Hey...Fenix is out here...where is Catrina? Get her in a tight outfit and get her out here!

*Watches Match*

~ So...Drago & Aerostar can't get along...neither can Havoc & Ivelisse...but its still an entertaining
match with some great spots and a lot of swinging DDTs.
~ Son of Havoc gets the win for his team even after Ivelisse walked out on the match. I must say its
good to see Son of Havoc pinning and winning..

~ Next up is a backstage gym segment featuring Prince Puma, Konnan, Hernandez, & Johnny Mundo...
turns out Hernandez & Mundo are going to be Puma's partners next week for the trios tournament...and
I'm actually curious to see this Hernandez wrestle.

~ So next up is Super Fly vs...Oh...look look...its Sexy Star!

*Sigh*

God damn she looks good...I still want to eat ice cream off her midriff...

~ And here comes Dario Cueto to make it a Mask vs. Mask match...well...spoiler
alert...I know who wins this...

*Watches Match*

Sexy-star-gifs-001_001.gif

~ And Sexy gets the win in the best in-ring performance I've seen her have yet.
She seems pretty animated after the match...but she eventually does remove Super Fly's mask...

0fd121f33808b0f7166e1fcfaf97744ee14ab9db_hq.jpg

and Oh No...here comes Pentagon Jr. who throws Sexy out of the ring and performs his shoulder snapper on Super Fly.

This worries me...I'd rather they keep Pentagon Jr. away from Sexy Star...but...its too late for that now.

~ Time for the main event as Prince Puma defends his title against King Cuerno...and I'm keen for this
match. Puma is flanked by Johnny Mundo & Hernandez and Cuerno makes his entrance alone before
Cage & Texano arrive and are revealed to be Cuerno's trios partners.

*Watches Match*

~ So the match was solid...but...I'd rather it have been a simple 1 on 1 match with no outside interference.
Both Puma and Cuerno showed why they are such a great performers and I would like to see this match again.

~ Puma gets the win and shows some tension with Hernandez before it turns into complete and utter chaos to
set up the trios match for next week.

Highlights: Sexy Star, The ongoing drama between Son of Havoc, Ivelisse & Angelico and the ring skills of Puma & Cuerno.

Lowlights: The outside interference in the main event, No sign of Catrina...

All in All...A solid episode featuring 15 performers...that is a full card with a lot of the roster getting a run...Nice!

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episode 23: Fire In The Cosmos (Burning in the Sky!)

~ Recap Time!

~ We now go up onto the roof for an Aerostar/Dario Cueto segment...its a nice piece.

~ The in-ring action begins with a Trios tournament match with Prince Puma, Johnny Mundo & Hernandez vs.
King Cuerno, Texano & Cage.

*Watches Match*

~ So Hernandez is a tank in the ring...which is cool...I've never seen him wrestle before...
~ The pace is hectic and there are a lot of great spots with Puma, Mundo and Cuerno all looking sharp.
~ And the "Cuerno Club" get the victory after some bull rope punches by Texano and the Thrill of the Hunt on Puma.

~ Dario Cueto declares he wants a preview of the next episodes final and he set up a triple threat match:
Cage vs. The Mack vs. Son of Havoc...Nice...

*Watches Match*

~ And Cage gets the victory with a Weapon X on Havoc...but out of everyone The Mack impressed me the most.
The man has some moves.

~ We now get a Drago/Dario Cueto bathroom segment...less segments in the bathroom please...

~ We now cut back to the ring with Pentagon Jr. whispering into the cute ring announcers ear. It appears Pentagon
if about to offer another sacrifice to his master...okay...

tumblr_nmw7s05QuF1snhdpvo3_r1_250.gif

HOLY SHIT!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?! PENTAGON IS ATTACKING MELISSA SANTOS!!!
NO!!! SOMEONE STOP THIS!!! SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!!! SAVE THE CUTE ANNOUNCER!!!

Vampiro is about to make a move but...Oh...look look...its Sexy Star! and check out that outfit!

876b4d654d49560e5af973eb36714db9.jpg

*Sigh*

And Sexy makes the save and gets Melissa away from Pentagon...Thank Christ...

Wow...that was really intense! Now Pentgon is taking this too far. His Master needs to get him under
control right now...I'm looking at you Dario!

~ And now its time for the main event...Match 5 in the best of 5 series as Drago takes on Aerostar.
~ And Dario is doing the ring announcing seeing as Melissa Santos decided to have an early night
after Pentagon tried to give her the shoulder snapper.

*Watches Match*

~ And Drago gets the win! Yay! and the two embrace after the match...nice work guys.
~ And it turns out Dario's unique opportunity is for Drago to get a shot at Prince Puma for the
LU Championship...but...if Drago doesn't win...he's banned from the temple! WTF?! Don't tell me
Drago is leaving...he one of my favorites.

Highlights: King Cuerno, The moves of the Mack, Sexy Star saving Melissa Santos from Pentagon
and Drago winning a title shot.

Lowlight: Pentagon attacking Melissa Santos...Sexy & Ivelisse are at least wrestlers.

All in All...another great episode of wrestling and story telling...this show continues to get better and better.

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episode 24: Trios Champions (Three Times The Gold!)

~ We open with a Black Lotus training segment with her Master El Dragon Azteca...
and it turns out she's not ready yet.

~ We cut the temple to see the Trios Championship Titles on the announce table as before Melissa Santos
announces the first match...Oh...look look...its Sexy Star!

97e4b3c3bb5fa1cf501748232c7d0f75.jpg

*Sigh*

And this week she'll be fighting...Oh God...its Pentagon Jr. and suddenly I'm extremely worried.

~ Interesting to see Melissa Santos has her ankle wrapped...thats a nice detail...she also sounded flat
when introducing Pentagon...can't say I blame her.

*Watches Match with great concern*

SexyStarPentagon_edited-460x295.jpg

~ Wow...this has been a good fight...Sexy has looked great in her last couple of matches.

~ And Sexy gets the win with a huge Lungblower/Backstabber...that was awesome!
I love you Sexy!

~ We now head into the temple gym for a Johnny Mundo/Alberto El Patron segment.
Alberto is busting Johnny's chops about several losses he's suffered. Honestly Alberto...
from what I've seen...Johnny has more in-ring talent than you...so perhaps you should
know your role and shut your mouth.

~ And now its time for the Trios Tournament Final as King Cuerno, Cage & Texano take on
Son of Havoc, Ivelisse & Angelico who also take on Big Ryck, the Mack & Killshot.
This is going to be a nightmare to do a recap for...

*Watches Match*

~ Its an elimination match...which means it could go on for a while...
~ The Mack has some sweet moves...
~ Ivelisse hurt herself attacking Cuerno from the apron to the floor...
~ So...WTF?! Angelico hit Texano into the crowd and this random guy we've seen shots of
through the night starts attacking Texano...that seemed kind of random.
~ Killshot takes advantage and hits a top rope double stomp for the pin!
~ King Cuerno, Cage & Texano are gone!

~ Angelico is really taking a beating tonight...
~ Ivelisse is selling her injury really well...but the lady is still willing to fight...

IvelisseDive_Edited.jpg

Son of Havoc takes out the Mack and Big Ryck on the outside...
~ And through all off this chaos Angelico hits the Fall of the Angels on Killshot! 1,2,3! They did it! Hell Yeah!

~ Oh No...here comes Dario Cueto...and now they have to fight the Crew in a no DQ match to win the titles?!
That's bullshit! Boo! Roman Reigns just won the 2015 Royal Rumble level of Boos!

~ The Crew are pummeling Havoc, Angelico & Ivelisse...this isn't right! Boo!
~ Now Angelico is on top of Dario's office...Ivelisse is being choked out with a kendo stick! Someone do something!
~ Bael & Cortez are about to attack Ivelisse...she can't even walk...wait...

cf57b776ee0b2972b705fcccc6876acf.gif

HHHOOOLLLYYY FFFUUUCCCKKKIIINNNGGG SSSHHHIIITTT!!! ANGELICO DOVE OFF THE
TOP OF DARIO'S OFFICE TO TAKE OUT BAEL & CORTEZ!!! SUPERHEROES ARE REAL!!!

I can't believe that...that may-be the most amazing spot I've ever seen in a wrestling match...what a moment!
Angelico...you are one in a million buddy!

~ Ivelisse is now dealing out some pain with a kendo stick! Hit them till they bleed babe! Havoc and Angelico
are on opposite turnbuckles...double flying finishers...the ref does a double count...1,2,3!!! They did it!
Team Havoc are the Trios Champions!!!

d4ca468a69f860aaad5c626cc2fb7b29ce08ae41_hq.jpg

Highlights: Angelico's death defying leap from the top of the office...10 out of 10!
The entire Trios tournament final, Sexy Star getting a win and looking sharp doing it.

Lowlight: Not in this episode Son!

All in All...Angelico is the Man!

Angelico! Angelico! Angelico!

Episode 25: The Way of the Drago (Is to breathe fire!)

~ We open with a segment of the slightly upset Dario Cueto introducing the Crew to Matanza...
the man behind the bars. The jist of this segment is if the Crew fucks up again...Matanza gets
to "play with them" Best not fuck up again guys.

~ Hey its Fenix! But where is Catrina? I thought they were "running" together now? and the Bird
of Fire is taking on Killshot...nice.

*Watches Match*

~ And its a solid match will Killshot getting in some great moves and strikes...but eventually Fenix
gets the win with the Fire Driver.

Seriously though...where is Catrina? I miss her...I mean she's such an important and will developed character...

Maxine-lucha-gifs-0031.gif

~ And now I'm thirsty for milk...lol

~ Another segment with Dario Cueto and Drago in the bathroom...why is Drago always in the bathroom?
I have to say his red/gold ring attire looks quite fetching. Drago has a superb look.

~ We now have another backstage segment with Dario talking to Prince Puma...before Hernandez confronts
Dario about his triple threat match tonight. Dario makes it fair by making it a Number 1 contender match. Seem fair...
even if Hernandez has only been here for like 5 minutes.

~ Okay...wait a minute...I smell Jobbers...Oh hey...its a four way match between the victims of Pentagon Jr.
Famous B vs. Ricky Mandel vs. Vinny Massaro vs. Argenis...I want to care...but I don't.

~ Oh Hey...Texano is here to ruin the "Running of the Jobbers" as he throws all four of them and ref out of the ring
before addressing the audience member who attacked him last episode. Texano wants some revenge...and I hope he gets it.

I wonder who that guy was anyway? I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.

~ Wow...another Dario Cueto segment...the guy is eveywhere tonight. So...he's outside and he meets
Marty "The Moth" Martinez...and this guy seems like a bit of a creeper...and I should know...I am a creeper.

~ Our next match is a number one contender three-way: King Cuerno vs. Cage vs. Hernandez...and I'm curious
to see Hernandez fight.

*Watches Match*

Okay...a few notes:
~ King Cuerno is possibly now my favorite on the entire LU roster (apart from Sexy Star of course)
~ Cage has some serious moves for a guy his size and build...I'm surprised Vince hasn't signed this guy yet.
~ Hernandez is pretty solid and has great "in-ring charisma" He fits in well...

~ And Marty "The Creeper" is in the ring...WTF?! And now he's gone...but Hernandez uses the distraction and
gets the win...Damn...I was hoping Cuerno would win.

~ We now have a Vampiro sit down interview with Son of Havoc, Ivelisse & the real life superhero Angelico.
It basically turns into mass bickering...but Ivelisse has a cast on her leg. I hope she'll be okay. I'd offer to
lick it better...but she already has a cast on it.

ivelisse-son-of-havoc-angelico.jpg

~ And now its time for the main event...Puma vs. Drago for the LU Championship and if Drago losses...he
is exiled from the temple. Now I honestly want Puma to keep the title for as long as possible...but...I want
Drago to stay. Damn your booking Dario!

~ Konnan is at ringside for this one...which is interesting.

*Watches Match*

lucha-underground-drago-vs-prince-puma-e1432075163916.jpg

A Few Notes:
~ Vampiro really doesn't like Konnan...are they going to have a match?
~ The handshake was cool...
~ The is a great back-and-forth encounter with Drago showing he has the skill and speed to keep up with Puma...
~ The ref bump was kind of lame...
~ Drago had this match won!
~ Hernandez gets involved and attacks Drago...not sure if he meant to though...
~ And Puma gets the win...but you can tell he's not happy about it...
~ The crowd chanting "Thank You Drago" was a great touch...

~ We end the show with another Dario/Drago segment...

Drago finally speaks to Dario...

"We will meet again"

I hope so Drago...I hope so...

Drago leaves through the temple gate to a giant burst of fire...excuse me what?!

Highlights: Fenix, King Cuerno, Puma vs. Drago, the acting of Dario Cueto

Lowlight: The finish of the main event...

All in All...another solid episode with 4 of my favorites in action. I'm not as cut about Drago because I'm guessing
he'll return soon as I've seen the episode titles for the rest of the season 1.

Drago! Drago! Drago!

Episode 26: The Best in the Business (A.J Styles?)

~ We open with an office segment with Dario Cueto, Johnny Mundo & Alberto El Patron...
and it appears either Alberto or Mundo will be getting a shot at Hernandez for the number
one contender spot.

~ Our first match is Son of Havoc & Angelico vs. Castro & Cisco of the Crew. Ivelisse is at
ringside on crutches with her foot in a cast. I hope she's going to be okay.

*Watches Match*

Its a solid match with everyone looking sharp. The Crew have better team chemistry but
Havoc & Angelico are more talented wrestlers. Seriously...Angelico has some slick moves
and those knee strikes are awesome.
~ The Crew Duo get the victory...thanks to an eye poke and "the Psycho Realm"

~ We have another office segment with Dario Cueto speaking with the fan that attacked
Texano a couple of episodes back. He's paying more attention to his phone than Dario...
so I instantly hate him. Turns out he's having a match with Texano tonight.

~ Next is a locker room segment with Konnan, Prince Puma, Hernandez and Dario Cueto.
There is some serious tension between Konnan, Puma & Hernandez...and Dario decides
to play into that by setting up a tag match for later tonight. Puma & Hernandez vs. King Cuerno & Cage...

~ It turns out the violent fan is named Delavar Daivari and he's in the ring drinking an
"adult beverage" Cute Ring Announcer Melissa Santos begins to introduce his opponent
but she quickly bails with an "Oh Shit!" as Texano stormed the ring. Daivari & Texano brawl,
the ref is shoved aside, there was a DQ, Daivari bails from the fight.

~ Next up is Puma & Hernandez vs. King Cuerno & Cage...and I'm guessing this match will
eventually break down into chaos...

*Watches Match*

Cuerno & Cage make a great team...and Cage is a fucking beast! Hernandez eventually
turns on Puma and Konnan threatens Hernandez with his metal cane...Hernandez then
bails on the match leading to Puma eating a Weapon X and being pinned by Cage.

~ We get another Black Lotus/El Dragon Azteca segment...and I really want to see her wrestle.
Turns out I'll be waiting a little longer.

~ Time for the main event and its Alberto El Patron vs. Johnny Mundo...and I will admit I'm really
curious about this one...

*Watches Match*

Okay...so I finally understand why Alberto El Patron is rated so highly in some wrestling circles.
This was an excellent match with some great spots and a great in-ring story. The ending came
out of nowhere with Alberto delivering a stiff looking kick to the head of Mundo. That was great...

~ And we get a closing segment with the lovely Catrina and Mil Muertes...and it appears that
Mil is about to rise again! Hell Yeah!!!

Highlights: Angelico, Cage, Alberto El Patron vs. Johnny Mundo and the closing Catrina/Mil Muertes segment.

Lowlights: Puma being pinned, No Sexy Star...

All in All...a solid episode with a fantastic main event and a preview of things to come.

Episode 27: Ancient Medallions (The Gold Coins from the Mario Games?)

~ We open with Dario Cueto/Matanza "dungeon" segment...and Dario is going on about 7 special medallions
from the ancient Aztec tribes...Okay...as long as people have to wrestle for them I'm all for it.

~ Our first match is Aerostar taking on a new performer named Jack Evans. Apparently Jack
was once in a tag team with Angelico...and just by his attire I could have guessed that.

*Watches Match*

So its a solid match with some amazing spots...especially the finishing flipping piledriver to give Aerostar the
victory...but I found Evans to be a very annoying performer...and not in a good way.

~ We now get a Big Ryck/Mack locker room segment...and it appears the Big Ryck face turn was only temporary...Fair enough...

~ We now have a Seven-way match for the first of the Aztec Medallions...and in the ring is
Cage, King Cuerno, Pentagon Jr., Fenix, Killshot and oh oh...look! Its Sexy Star!

Sexy_Star-lucha_libre.jpg

*Sigh*

Heyyyyyy-eyyyy Sexy! Ooh, ahh! I wanna knoowww... will you be my girl?

And the final performer to enter is the Mack...something tells me this match is going to be off the hook!

*Watches Match*

Okay...a few notes:
~ Sexy Star sure can take a bump...Ouch...
~ Cage is a beast...
~ Cuerno has amazing ring presence and body language...
~ Killshot is really agile for a wrestler so lanky...
~ Pentagon Jr. is pure, barely restrained violence...
~ Fenix stands out even surrounded by all this talent...
&
~ The Mack has the moveset of a much smaller wrestler...

~ Fenix gets the win...but honestly...anyone could have won this match...it was fantastic.
This show knows how to keep it fast and exciting.

~ We are now in Dario's office with Son of Havoc, Ivelisse, & Angelico and it turns out the Trios Champions
will be defending their titles against the Crew in a ladder match next episode. Shit...that sounds dangerous...
and Ivelisse is still on crutches...Oh No...will this be the end for our 3 heroes? Find out on the next episode
of Dragonball Z! I mean...Lucha Underground...

~ We now get an incredible looker room segment with Catrina pulling some Wyatt family style moves on Fenix.
It turns out Fenix was used by Catrina to "empower" Mil Muertes and it turns out a reborn Mil is now coming for Fenix.
The scene ends with Fenix being attacked by three randoms in skulls masks.

Did that really happen? What the fuck is going on? Am I watching the X-Files?

I mean...I liked it...but how far will they push the supernatural?

~ And we now have the main event as Hernandez takes on Alberto El Patron for the
Number 1 contender spot for the LU title.

*Watches Match*

Okay...A couple of points:
~ Hernandez continues to impress me with his speed and power...
~ Alberto is getting better by the match...at least to my eyes...

And Johnny Mundo attacks Alberto (the match is no count out or DQ) and puts him head first through Dario's
office window! Damn...that was a great spot and Dario's reaction is priceless.

4a284a9e217a9e6a1eaf8e6397339b53cedacef2_hq.gif

Johnny rolls Alberto back in the ring and Hernandez gets the "easy" win.

~ I guess this is a heel turn for Mundo...which I'm okay with...I just hope that Puma retains against Hernandez...
put there is always a chance that Konnan may screw over Puma and help his "friend" win the title.

Highlights: The 7 Way Medallion Match, Sexy Star, the window spot in the main event
and that Fenix/Catrina segment...seriously...WTF?!

Lowlight:
Jack Evans hamming it up...

All in All...another great episode of a great show. I'm so glad I decided to give this show my time.

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episode 28: Shoots And Ladders (Is a Great Korn song)

~ We open with Prince Puma vs. Marty "The Moth" Martinez...or Marty the Creeper as I'll calling him. Marty is
living up to his nickname by smelling Melissa Santos. Look buddy...I want to smell Charlotte's hair...but I wouldn't
actually do it without asking first.

~ The opening is strange as Marty appears to be a big fan of Prince Puma...but Marty turns on Puma and the
match begins proper...

*Watches Match*

~ Marty the Creeper does have some decent moves...but Puma eventually gets the win.

~ Hernandez then enters atop the stairs which leads to Konnan cutting a post-match promo where he calls Hernandez "Baby Nuts" lol

~ Next we get a Vampiro ringside interview with Johnny Mundo...and its okay...not much to say really...Vampiro is pretty cool...

~ Next up is an office segment with Dario & The Crew...and I'm guessing this may-be the Crew's last chance to get the job done.

~ We now have the 2nd attempt at DelAvar Daivari vs. Texano...and its an okay match before Big Ryck appears out of nowhere
to help Daivari attack Texano. I guess Ryck was a face for all of 3 episodes.

~ Next is another Sorceress Catrina segment...this time with Dario in his office. It appears Mil Muertes will be fighting Fenix next
episode in a "Death Match" I have no idea what kind of match that will be...but if its anything like their casket match...I'm sure it will awesome...

~ Our next segment shows that Black Lotus is finally making her way to the temple to confront and kill the man named Matanza.
El Dragon Azteca is not impressed by this...but an old face pops in to help him out...Chavo Guerrero!

A deal is struck between the 2...El Dragon will hopefully use his influence to clear Chavo's name in Mexico and in return Chavo will
protect Black Lotus in the temple. The plot thickens...

~ We now have our main event ladder match for the Trios titles as Team Havoc once again takes on the Crew. Ivelisse comes out on
crutches and I admire her passion (and her backside) but this match basically Pt.2 of the match they had in episode 24.

*Watches Match*

And once again Angelico takes flight off the top of Dario's office and dropkicks Cortez off a ladder in the ring. Its a great spot...

tumblr_nop8zn0dWz1sbzhteo1_400.gif

but its not as impressive as his original crossbody save in the original title match.

~ Mr. Cisco goes through the window into Dario's office...and then jumps out of it later in match...very cool.
Also I love Dario's reactions to people flying in through his window.

~ Ivelisse gets a cool moment by climbing a ladder to claim the titles for her team. I'm really impressed by Ivelisse...
the woman is a fighter in style and spirit.

Highlights: Angelico's office leap dropkick, Ivelisse climbing the ladder with one leg to claim victory for team Havoc,
Sorceress Catrina...

Lowlights: Marty the Creeper being creepy, DelAvar Daivari vs. Texano...

All in All...one of the weaker episodes of the show I've watched...but it was still better than an episode of RAW.

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episodes 29: Fight to the Death (Did Vince Russo book this match?)

~ So we open with segment outside the temple with Black Lotus & Chavo Guerrero and it appears Chavo wants to
help Lotus...but...this is the same guy who hit Sexy Star in the head with a chair...you can see why I'm skeptical...

~ Wow...Melissa Santos looks amazing tonight...Yummy!

~ The first match of the episode is Aerostar vs. Johnny Mundo...and while Aerostar looks fucking cool tonight...but...
its basically a squash match to push the newly turned heel Mundo. Solid match but nothing special...

~ Next we have a Vampiro ringside interview with...Oh Oh...look! its Sexy Star...

sexy-star-vampiro-interview.png

*Sigh*

God she's amazing...I love you Sexy...you are my bae! The interview is great and Vampiro clearly respects
Sexy for the performer she is. It appears that Sexy hasn't heard from Super Fly since the Shoulder Snapper
incident and next episode Sexy will be fighting Pentagon Jr. in a submission match...Oh No...

~ We now have a Lucha Underground Championship match between Prince Puma (with Konnan) vs. Hernandez...

*Watches Match*

Wow...this was a great match with Puma looking sharp as a razor and Hernandez showing some real in-ring skills.
Puma retains the title clean and thankfully Konnan didn't turn on Puma...I honestly thought that's how this match
would play out. I'm really glad they've kept the belt on Puma...he's a great champion.

~ And now the Death Match main event between Fenix and the returning Mil Muertes...and wow...Mil looks fucking
hardcore with those contacts and black threads...and Catrina looks hot...and the three skull faced ghouls are an interesting touch.

*Watches Match*

So...Mil 2.0 is playing up his strength and his body language is different...kind of like classic Kane...but not...if that makes sense.Catrina and ghouls circle the ring counter clockwise as the ghouls Herk-&-Jerk like marionettes. Its a great match but its nowhere near as good as their casket match. There is a fantastic spot where Mil 2.0 powerbombs Fenix through the ceiling of one of the second floor corner rooms.

That pretty much spells for the end for Fenix as the ghouls carry Fenix back into the ring...Mil 2.0 delivers the
flatliner (End of Days) and pins Fenix. Catrina then crawls into the ring and gives Fenix the lick of death.

~ The show ends proper after a Dario, the Crew & Matanza segment as Bael is actually fed to Matanza buy Cortez & Cisco.
Like literally Matanza kills Bael.

I think this show just jumped the Shark...lol

Highlights: The Sexy Star interview, Prince Puma vs. Hernandez, Mil Muertes being totally brutal, Catrina's cleavage...

Lowlight:
So...there was a murder? Really?

All in All...a fantastic episode with many highlights...but...I'm not sure how I feel about the whole murder thing...

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episode 30: Submit to the Master (I'd submit to Sexy Star *sigh*)

~ We open in Dario's office as the Boss of the temple is currently chatting with Chavo Guerrero. It appears Chavo is
still only looking out for himself and he aligns himself with Dario for protection from Mexico. It appears Chavo will hand
be turning on Black Lotus and handing her over to Dario.

~ The first match is between Argenis and Jack Evans for one of the seven Aztec Medallions...and we get a great pre-match
promo with Dario taking a verbal shot at each luchador...its great stuff.

*Watches Match*

So Jack Evans clearly has great technical skills...but I hate the way he acts in the ring...he spends more time talking than
actually fighting. Of course because I can't stand Evans he ends up winning the match and the Aztec Medallion...and while
I'm here lets start keeping tabs on who has these medallions...

#1: Fenix
#2: Jack Evans

~ Time for a locker room segment with DelAvar Daivari & Big Ryck...it appears they need a third team mate for a shot at the
Trios titles. Ryck suggests the Mack but suddenly Cage walks in, beats the shit out of the Mack (while Big Ryck watches) and
gets the spot on Team Daivari.

~ In another locker room (How many locker rooms in the temple?) we see the lovely Black Lotus discussing matters with Chavo.
They lay out a plan to kill the man named Matanza "in front of the world" Of course Chavo turns on Lotus but the lady has some
slick moves and Chavo has to call in the Crew to back him up. Lotus fends off Cortez & Cisco but Chavo attacks her from behind
with a kendo stick. The segment ends with Chavo holding a pair of handcuffs...Damn...I was hoping to finally see Lotus compete
in the ring...I guess I'll be waiting for a bit longer.

~ Back in the temple its time for a Trios Championship match as Team Daivari takes on Team Havoc. Woah...look at Ivelisse...
did she borrow that outfit from Alexa Bliss? She looks F-I-N-E! Shame she is still on crutches and can't really compete.

*Watches Match*

So Team Havoc is dysfunctional as ever with Ivelisse spending part of the match sitting in the crowd while Angelico & Havoc tag
each other without communicating. Thankfully a now face? Texano appears and costs Team Daivari the match by attacking Big
Ryck allowing Angelico to take out Cage and Havoc to hit the Shooting Star Press on Daivari for the win. Team Havoc retains!

~ We get another office segment as Black Lotus is presented to Dario by Chavo & the Crew. It appears she is going to be locked
up in the same place as Matanza.

~ And now our main event...a submission match between Pentagon Jr. and my Bae Sexy Star. Now I just want to state I'm extremely
jealous of Pentagon...I wish Sexy Star would try and make me submit.

~ Pentagon is introduced first and Melissa Santos never takes her eyes off him...can't say I blame her. Sexy Star is now introduced
next...and...

*Sigh*

God she's amazing...I love you Sexy! You can do this...

*Watches Match*

Okay...a few notes:
~ I really don't like seeing female wrestlers/performers taking "chops"
~ Pentagon & Sexy have really good ring chemistry...despite the gender difference...
~ Sexy tries several submission holds but can't quite lock them in 100%...
~ Vampiro seems very animated on commentary during this match...

Sexy locks in a single leg Boston crab and Pentagon might be tapping soon...

60315lucha.png

but Super Fly appears...AND ATTACKS SEXY!!! WTF?! Super Fly powerbombs Sexy and hands her
over to Pentagon who delivers a package piledriver and then puts her a surfboard submission and then...
Holy Shit! Let go you freak!!! Sexy has to submit...Damn!

pentagon-jr-sexy-star-surfboard-lucha-underground.png

Oh Shit...Pentagon is going for the Shoulder Snapper...NO! NO! NO! but...VAMPIRO MAKES THE SAVE!!! HELL YEAH!

lucha%2Bunderground%2Bvampiro%2Bto%2Bthe%2Brescue.gif

there is a tense stand off between Vampiro & Pentagon before Vampiro exits the ring...Wow...that was intense!

~ And we finally end with a Vampiro mirror segment as we hear past quotes about Vampiro struggling with his own
demons & dark side as he suddenly starts head butting the mirror in a spastic frenzy of restrained rage...Wow...that was fantastic...

Highlights: Sexy Star vs. Pentagon Jr, Vampiro making the post match save, the Vampiro mirror segment,
Team Havoc retaining the Trios titles, Ivelisse's outfit...

Lowlight: Jack Evans pisses me off...

All in All...Wow...another amazing episode with a great main event and the teasing of the possible in-ring return of Vampiro.
So good...So very good...

Vampiro! Vampiro! Vampiro!

Episode 31: The Desolation of Drago (Not Smaug)

~ We open with a Drago on the rooftop segment as he channels his inner Batman...

~ Vampiro opens the show by apologising for getting involved in the Sexy Star/Pentagon feud last episode.
It appears Sexy will be out for a couple of weeks and Striker commends Vampiro for making the save.
As he should...he did the right thing Brother...

~ Dario Cueto is in the ring and announces that in 8 weeks (8 episodes for me) the event Ultima Lucha will take
place in the temple. I'm guessing that is like the Lucha Underground version of Wrestlemania...may-be? Tonight
there will be a triple threat match between Hernandez, King Cuerno & Cage for the title shot at Ultima Lucha...
Fenix would have been in the match...but he is still M.I.A after the death match against Mil Muertes.

~ Blue Demon Jr. is introduced...and so is Chavo Guerrero flanked by the Crew...and Dario clearly wants Blue Demon
taken out because he suddenly books a "Anything Goes" Match between Demon & Chavo...

*Watches Match*

And its not really a match...its basically a 3 on 1 attack as Blue Demon is destroyed and pinned by Chavo. No one
comes out to help Demon...and I'm curious if we will see the legendary luchador again.

~ We now have a Drago sequel segment as he enters the temple in a very dramatic fashion...

~ A dungeon segment is next as Chavo taunts Black Lotus in her cell opposite Matanza...its dark, gritty and very creepy...

~ When then cut to the bathroom (again) as Drago confronts Dario Cueto. Drago is more expressive in this segment and
believes he should be in the number 1 contender match tonight. Drago plays on Dario's love of violence as he threatens
revenge on Hernandez. Dario adds Drago to the match...but if he doesn't win...he will still remain banished from the temple
and he will have to leave his mask behind.

High stakes for Drago...but I'm stoked he's back...

~ Next up is a Trios match as the Disciples of Death (led by Sorceress Catrina and her fantastic cleavage) take on Mascarita
Sagrada, Pimpinela Escarlata and the debuting Bengala.

A few notes:
~ The Disciples of Death are the 3 Skull Faced Ghouls we met a couple of episodes back...
~ The temple lights and flickering as they make their entrance...
~ They are wearing all black while their opponents wear all white...
~ Bengala looks really cool with his White Tiger mask...

*Watches Match*

So the Disciples of Death go over in a fairly once sided match...and I'm curious to see how this team/unit is used in the future...
and I swear Catrina gets hotter every time I see her.

~ Another office segment follows as Dario is sitting down talking to Johnny Mundo. It appears that there will be an "Ironman"
match next week between Mundo and Prince Puma for the LU Championship. It appears Dario is now a fan of Mundo and wants
him to be champion going into Ultima Luncha.

~ We now have the Four-way number 1 contenders match as its Cage vs. King Cuerno vs. Hernandez vs. Drago...this should
be great to watch...

*Watches Match*

A few notes:
~ Drago looks sick in his black threads and he also has paint on his neck...
~ Cuerno & Cage appear to be working as a team for the most part...
~ Killshot appears on the upper level observing the match...
~ Cage continues to impress me with just how agile he is...

And Drago gets the win after firing a green mist spit into Cuerno's face before rolling him up with his unique pinning maneuver.
Prince Puma then comes out for a respectful championship stare down.

~ We now cut to inside Dario's office as Sorceress Catrina appears Wyatt style and begins strangling Dario with his key necklace.
Catrina "forces" Dario to have another number 1 contender match for Ultima Lucha with Mil Muertes taking on Drago.

Catrina also makes mention of "the monster in the cell" and how even he couldn't stop Mil 2.0. I'm guessing we will see that match
in the future...but we have to see Matanza first.

Highlights: Drago returning and winning, Cage leaping around the temple, Catrina's cleavage...

Lowlight: Blue Demon Jr. getting beaten down again...lame!

All in All...Drago returns and I'm happy about it!

Drago! Drago! Drago! Drago! Drago! Drago!

Episode 32: All Night Long (Time for an Ironman Match!)

So...this entire episode is a 40 minute Ironman Match for the LU Championship between Prince Puma & Johnny Mundo...

*Watches Match*

A few notes:
~ Konnan was not at ringside for this match...
~ This match tells a great story with both Puma & Mundo looking like world class workers/performers...
~ The table spot was excellent...
~ Alberto El Patron showing up and attacking Mundo was predictable...but still great to see and the crowd popped big time for it...

Eventually Puma scored the win 5 to 4 and I'm glad he retained the title.

Highlights: The entire match/episode was excellent...

Lowlight:
None...

All in All...a very ballsy move by Lucha Underground...but thankfully they picked 2 performers that could tell a great story
and pull off this risky idea.

Puma! Puma! Puma! Puma! Puma! Puma! Puma! Puma!

Ivelisse's broken ankle was legit, too. :damn: The fact that she was able to still move around out there was insane!!

Hey now as a Pentagon fan, fuck that match with Sexy Star lol. Least favorite part of LU (minus all the character who aren't getting over so far that just disappear eventually), Star getting so much offense and dominating Pentagon was a little too much for me... but also seeing him attempt the armbar was crazy and Vamp JUMPING out of that chair was glorious! :win:

So many things to comment on... It's fun to see how it's like a thrill-ride for ya now. Like at first you were unsure, then around Aztec Warfare it was a fun show to watch, then it kept going and you found yourself sucked in more and more and it's the best thing ever.

BUT WASN'T THE UNLIKELY TRIO'S TRIOS TITLE WIN THE BEST THING EVER!?!?!?! "Just you wait, the most surprising people on the show will wind up being your favorites" or whatever it is I said, too lazy to scroll up

She truly is one bad ass bitch...and a hottie...lol

I can understand that...I'm a fan of both of them...and it seemed like a well laid out match...but I'm a Sexy fanboy...so I was happy with the match...
but also seeing him attempt the armbar was crazy and Vamp JUMPING out of that chair was glorious!
I was honestly shocked when Vampiro made the save...but the crowd pop he got was fantastic and the mirror promo they showed after was possibly the best promo I've seen on the show so far...

I'm really enjoy the "serial" nature of the show with its interesting characters that are strongly developed...plus the quality of the wrestling is for the most part excellent with different styles clashing and nearly everyone flying around the temple...including Cage & the Mack...even Hernandez gets some air time.
BUT WASN'T THE UNLIKELY TRIO'S TRIOS TITLE WIN THE BEST THING EVER!?!?!?! "Just you wait, the most surprising people on the show will wind up being your favorites" or whatever it is I said, too lazy to scroll up
It was a feelgood moment when they claimed those Trios Titles...and Son of Havoc really redeemed himself in my eyes...I honestly didn't think much of the guy when the show first started...but the guy has come a long way with the help of Angelico & Ivelisse...

~Fantasy Booking~
Prince Puma vs. Neville
Team Havoc vs. The New Day
Sexy Star vs. Sasha Banks
Mil Muertes vs. Bray Wyatt
Fenix vs. Skinsuke Nakamura
Pentagon Jr. vs. Demon King Finn Balor
The Mack vs. Kevin Owens
Drago vs. Sami Zayn
Johnny Mundo vs. A.J Styles
King Cuerno vs. Randy Orton
Cage vs. John Cena
Vampiro vs. JBL

And I'm Done...

Episode 33: Death vs. The Dragon (So...Sauron vs. Smaug?)

~ Okay...we start with Johnny Mundo vs. Alberto El Patron being anounnced for Ultima Lucha...

~ Next is a Vampiro ringside interview with Super Fly. The guy is being a cry baby and Vampiro
calls him out on it. Fuck you Super Fly!

~ We now get round 2 in the Sexy Star/Super Fly feud...

*Watches Match*

Okay...I love Sexy Star...but she seems a little...botchie in this match. I noticed a few spots that
looked very...awkward. Super Fly gets the win with a sit out powerbomb and of course Super Fly
attacks Sexy after the match and tries to take/rip her mask off. What an ass!

~ We now see Pentagon Jr. enter the ring...and it appears he doesn't give a shit about the Aztec
Medallions...he wants to fight...Vampiro. Oh My...this is very interesting. There is a tense confrontation
between the 2 before a ref comes to separate them.

~ Our second match of the night is a Four-way Aztec medallion match: Aerostar vs. Marty the Moth vs.
Cage vs. The Mack...

*Watches Match*

A few notes:
~ Cage and the Mack are both extremely agile for their size...
~ Marty the Moth is still a creeper...I saw him creeping near Melissa Santos during the match...
~ Aerostar has really grown on me as a performer...

And Aerostar gets the win by pinning Marty the Creeper after Cage and the Mack took each other out.
Nice...Aztec Medallion Count:

#1. Fenix
#2. Jack Evans
#3. Aerostar

~ We now get a gym segment where Team Havoc are working out only to be confronted by Sorceress
Catrina who sicks The Disciples of Death on them. Lights out, lights on and we see Team Havoc laid out
as Catrina and Mil Muertes walk off. Damn...this is reminding me of the Wyatt Family...or the Ministry of Darkness.

~ We now get our main event which is another Number 1 contender match with my boy Drago taking on
Mil Muertes 2.0...and Oh fuck off! Baby Nuts Hernandez is attacking Drago before the match...hand me my
phone so I can call bullshit!

~ Catrina & Mil 2.0 make their entrance and there are "Mamacita" chants for Catrina. I remember Eddie calling
Chyna that back in the day.

I'm really hoping Drago can get the win here...but...

*Watches Match*

He doesn't...Damn...it was a great match...but this new version of Mil is just so powerful...even more so than before.
Mil got the victory with the Flatliner.

~ After the match Prince Puma & Konnan appeared at the top of the temple stairs for a long distance stare down.

Highlights: Drago vs. Mil 2.0, Catrina being hot, Aerostar scoring a medallion, the Vampiro/Pentagon segment...

Lowlights: Sexy Star loosing and looking botchie while doing it, Marty the Creeper being creepy...

All in All...Catrina & Mil Muertes are clearly being pushed and the The Disciples of Death are also giving them a
numbers advantage. While I'm a huge fan of Prince Puma and I enjoy long title reigns...I can honesty see Mil taking
Puma out/down at Ultima Lucha. The Vampiro/Pentagon feud has my attention the most and I really hope Vampiro
gets in the ring one more time.

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episode 34: Gold and Guerreros (Is a bad combination)

~ We open with an office segment with Dario & Chavo. It appears Chavo is getting a shot at Puma tonight in a No DQ
match...Okay.

~ Delavar Daivari vs. Texano is our first match and...

*Watches Match*

Texano gets the win! Big Ryck needs to keep his one eye open...lol

~ Konnan, Prince Puma, Catrina & Mil Muertes feature in a gym segment next and Konnan doesn't care about any
supernatural powers...

~ Konnan is seen talking with an unknown ally...interesting...time for Mexico to deliver...

~ Drago vs. Hernandez is up next...and...

*Watches Match*

its a solid match...but its eventually thrown out with DQ win going to Drago...Hernandez cuts a nice promo after the
match to get some heel heat.

~ We are now in a hallway with Chavo, Catrina & Mil Muertes...its your standard Catrina segment...and then Mil
bellows like a beast and I soil myself slightly.

~ Alberto El Patron vs. Marty "The Moth" Martinez is next...and its a squash match with Alberto scoring the win.
Alberto cuts a great promo afterwards...I finally see why Alberto is a big name in wrestling...the guy is an all round star.

~ Now the main event...Chavo Guerrero vs. Prince Puma for the LU Championship...and its No DQ...but if Konnan gets
involved...Chavo wins the title...WTF?! And Chavo has the Crew with him...oh dear...I can see where this is going...

*Watches Match*

Its a fucking mess...seriously...the Crew have a habit of fucking up possibly good matches...luckily Texano comes out to
help Puma and he retains his title.

Texano cuts a nice promo after the match and he seems to work as a face for the most part.

~ We end the episode with a locker room segment between Chavo & Blue Demon Jr. and I was glad to see Blue Demon...
but...it appears Chavo is playing him...is Blue Demon turning heel?

Highlights: Catrina & Mil Muertes, Alberto & Puma scoring wins, Drago looking sharp...

Lowlights: The Crew ruining another main event, Overall the matches were pretty poor, No Sexy Star...

All in All...possibly the worst episode of the show so far. I know not every episode can be great...but this felt way below average.

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episode 35: Fuel to the Fire (Gasoline?)

~ We open with Pentagon Jr. speaking with his Master in a dojo segment. It appears Ian Hodgkinson
(Vampiro's real name) will be the next sacrifice. My guess of Dario being Pentagon's master appears
to be off. I is curious...

~ The Mack vs. Cage is the first match of the show and its a brutal but dynamic fight with the Mack scoring the win...
lol Mack flipped Cage the bird after the match.

~ Next up is a Catrina/Team Havoc locker room segment...man...Catrina is everywhere at the moment...not that I mind
because she's sexy and she's knows it. Its a great segment with some darkness & comedy. Ivelisse is great...

~ We now get a Vampiro ringside interview with...Oh Shit...Pentagon Jr. Vampiro apologizes...Pentagon doesn't care...
Vampiro asks who "the Master" is...Pentagon doesn't care...

Vampiro states that Pentagon is like he was back in the day, Pentagon calls Vampiro a coward, Vampiro fires up,
Pentagon challenges Vampiro to a match at Ultima Lucha, Vampiro isn't buying it, Pentagon walks off and the
interview ends with a Vampiro death stare. That was intense...

The next match is Mil Muertes vs. Son of Havoc...Oh shit...this doesn't look good for Havoc. Catrina, Ivelisse & Angelico
are all at ringside for this one...

*Watches Match*

Mil dominates for most of the match...but Havoc still got a few moves in. It gets really interesting when the Disciples appear
at ringside and Angelico & Ivelisse get a beatdown. Havoc makes the save...but Mil takes advantage and scores the victory.
Havoc gets a lick from Catrina as The "Death Cult" stand victorious.

~ Next up is a Texano, the Crew & Blue Demon Jr. in-ring promo...and its really strange. Texano is now playing the face...
The Crew attacks Texano...Blue Demon makes the save...only to then attack Texano with a chair...WTF?! And Blue Demon
will be fighting Texano at Ultima Lucha...Okay.

~ The Main event is an Atomicos Tag Match as Alberto El Patron...Oh Oh...Look! its Sexy Star!

*Sigh*

I love you Sexy!

Drago & Aerostar take on Johnny Mundo, Jack Evans, Super Fly & Hernandez...this should be interesting...

*Watches Match*

Okay...A few notes:
~ This match was a bit of a mess...
~ Aerostar continues to look better by the week...
~ Sexy looked sharp but she hardly had any ring time and she ended up getting pinned...damn...

Team Mundo gets the win...which is disappointing...but...Oh Shit...

~ Pentagon Jr. is attacking Vampiro...and he has a can of gasoline! Vampiro is now covered is gasoline and Pentagon has
a lighter...and...thankfully he doesn't immolate Vampiro...but its clear Pentagon wants Vampiro at Ultima Lucha.

Jesus...that was intense...

Highlights:
Anything involving Pentagon Jr. & Vampiro, the entire show was a highlight really...

Lowlight: Not this week son...

All in All...Wow...what a show. I actually thought episode 34 was pretty poor...but this episode was off the hook...
one of the best yet. The Pentagon/Vampiro is stuff is so intense...and I really hope Vampiro rips him to pieces
at Ultima Lucha.

Episode 36: The Beginning Of The End (But thankfully only for Season 1)

We open with Pentagon Jr. having a sit down with Dario Cueto in his office. Pentagon doesn't want an Aztec medallion...
he and his master want Vampiro. No shit...you covered him with gasoline and held a lighter above him. It appears "the Master"
will reveal himself when Pentagon proves he is ready. I'm am so pumped for this match.

~ Time for an Aztec Medallion match as Bengala takes on Delavar Daivari...and the crowd is chanting "Golden Shower" lol

*Watches Match*

Bengala gets the win and the Medallion...and Daivari continues to not impress me...

~ Oh Boy...time for a Vampiro/Pentagon Jr. in-ring promo...Vampiro repeats much of what he said in the ringside
interview from last week...the crowd is chanting "One More Match!" Pentagon arrives and demands an answer to
his challenge...and thankfully after a few more words...Vampiro excepts and he then puts Pentagon down with a
huge chokeslam. Hell Yeah! And the crowd goes wild!

~ Oh Oh...Look! Its Sexy Star!

*Sigh*

Its a sombre locker room segment with Sexy showing some solid acting chops. Nice!

~ Next is another Aztec medallion match: King Cuerno vs. Killshot...Now your talking...

*Watches Match*

Wow...these 2 have great chemistry together and my Boy Cuerno gets the win and the medallion with a brutal looking
submission hold. Nice!

~ What follows is another Aztec medallion match with Super Fly taking on...Oh Oh...look! Its Sexy Star!

*Sigh*

Hey...I want some Sexy! Hey...I want some Sexy!

*Watches Match*

Wow...a submission squash match as Sexy unleashes her inner Becky Lynch as Super Fly taps out to an armbar in
record time. My Bae Sexy now has one of those special Aztec medallions...and she looks so happy...Yay!

Wait...wait a minute...Oh No...here comes Marty the Creeper...stay away from Sexy you Creeper! He's claiming Sexy's
medallion belongs to his Aztec tribe...and WTF?! We are now having an impromptu Aztec medallion match between Sexy
& Marty the Creeper...

*Watches Match*

And Sexy gets another submission win! Yay! 2 wins in a row for Sexy!

Aztec Medallion Count:
#1. Fenix
#2. Jack Evans
#3. Aerostar
#4. Bengala
#5. King Cuerno
#6. Sexy Star

~ We end the night with a face off between Prince Puma & Mil Muertes with Dario Cueto hosting. This is going to get messy...

*Watches Segment*

Puma & Mil are in the ring with Dario and suddenly the Sorceress Catrina appears at the top of the stairs (God she's hot!)
and the Disciples appear with the coffin from Mil's casket match...Dario is trying to regain control...but too late...its a 4 0n 1
attack on Puma by the Death Cult...Konnan hits the ring with his metal cane and takes out the Disciples...he's about to hit
Catrina but Mil grabs the cane and lays out Konnan and now Puma goes down again. Mil holds Puma as Catrina strikes
Konnan with the "Power Stone" Now the Disciples put Konnan in the coffin and the lid is shut...Mil hits the flatliner on Puma...
Mil stands tall with Konnan's cane and the title to end the show.

Highlights: The whole show...seriously...it was fantastic...

Lowlight: None!

All in All...another excellent episode as this series sprints to its end. I honestly can't believe how much I'm looking forward to
Vampiro vs. Pentagon Jr.

Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Episode 37: PenUltimaLucha (I...I have no comment to add)

~ We start with a Dario Cueto/Big Ryck office segment...with Dario making a few eye jokes...I think he was joking? Big Ryck
gets given an Aztec medallion and shakes Dario down for some cash...I honestly thought Dario had given up on Big Ryck...
but...I guess not...

Aztec Medallion Count:
#1. Fenix
#2. Jack Evans
#3. Aerostar
#4. Bengala
#5. King Cuerno
#6. Sexy Star
#7. Big Ryck

~ Our opening match is Johnny Mundo vs. Texano...

*Watches Match*

Its a solid match...but here comes the Crew to ruin things...a DQ win for Texano but its now a 3 on 1 attack until Alberto El Patron
arrives and chases off Mundo and the Crew. There is still tension between Alberto & Texano...but they don't come to blows.

~ Back in Dario's office Hernandez is having a sit down with Mr. Cueto...and it appears Hernandez will be fighting Drago at Ultima
Lucha in a "Believer's Backlash" Match...which is basically a lumberjack match with leather belt armed fans as the lumberjacks.
Jesus...that sounds bad...for Hernandez.

~ The Mack & Cage are having another match and Cage opens with a rampage of offensive moves...and...the Mack gets the win
with a surprise sunset flip. Cage & Mack continue to fight all over the temple for Dario comes out to cut a promo. It appears Cage
& the Mack will be having a falls count anywhere match at Ultima Lucha...Nice! Vince should take a lesson from Dario about giving
the fans what they want.

~ Now we have the Gift of the Gods in-ring segment...and hot damn that belt is is awesome. Okay...it turns out the new title belt is
like a combination of the Money in the Bank contract and the Intercontinental title...and I love it.

We are getting a 7 way match at Ultima Lucha for the Gift of the Gods title...as they introduce the medallion holders (bar Fenix)
and the performers each place their medallions into the plates on the belt. Its very cool...

It appears Fenix is a no show and his medallion will be contested in a Battle Royale...but it turns out Fenix is here...okay...but he'll
have to win it back.

~ Its an Aztec medallion Battle Royale featuring Fenix, Famous B, Ricky Mandel, Killshot, Argenis, Vinny Massaro, Daivari, Super Fly,
Mascarita Sagrada, and Marty "The Moth" Martinez.

*Watches Match*

And Fenix wins the medallion for the second time and places it in the Gift of the Gods belt...a very nice moment.

~ The final build for Ultima Lucha takes place in the ring as Prince Puma prepares to cut a promo...of course Mil 2.0 (in a suit) and
Catrina (HOT!!!) appears. The Disciples of Death hit the ring but Puma takes them down...Mil rushes the ring but Puma takes him
down as well...the show ends with Puma standing tall...Damn Puma was on fire during that in-ring fight.

Highlights: The Gift of the Gods title, Fenix finally back in action, Puma standing tall, the hype for Ultima Lucha...

Lowlight: The matches were a little scrappy...

All in All...the end is near...and I'm both excited and sad about it. I'm sure the 2 episode Ultima Lucha event will cap this season off with a bang.

Episode 38: Ultima Lucha Pt.1

And so it comes to an end...the first season of Lucha Underground has been a thrilling ride with great characters, fantastic wrestling and intense
storytelling and I'm extremely grateful to the members of this forum who convinced me to give the show my time. Its been very rewarding. So...let's
begin with the "Pre-Show" episode...

~ We open with Dario Cueto & Black Lotus...and Dario states his brother Matanza didn't kill her parents...El Dragon Azteca did...interesting.

Match 1: The Mack vs. Cage in a Falls Count Anywhere with Weapons Match:

Notes: The Mack has scored two wins over Cage recently and this match serves as a crazy climax to their short but intense feud.

~ The temple is going fucking nuts during this one...like almost insane...
~ Cage uses a Fire extinguisher...
~ Mack breaks a 2x4 over Cage...
~ Mack smacks Cage in the head with a cooler, beers fly out, Mack pops two beers,
smashed them together and then hit Cage with a Stunner!
~ They move to the upper level where Cage turns the tide with a discus clothesline...
~ And then Cage curb stomps Mack through a (plaster) cinder block for the win!

Damn...that was a lot of fun and while I would have rather the Mack won...Cage was due for a win. A great opening to Ultima Lucha...

~ Match 2: Team Havoc vs. Disciples of Death in a tornado tag match for the Trios championship:

Notes: This match seems kind of forced...and Ivelisse is still injured...I am concerned. I have really come to like team Havoc and I'm
hoping they retain.

~ The Disciples have some sexy new masks...
~ And speaking of Sexy...Catrina is at ringside for this one...
~ Because of the tornado rules...the match is a giant mess...
~ Angelico hits another amazing flying crossbody of the top of Dario's office...
~ Ivelisse and Catrina get into a scuffle...
~ Catrina hits Ivelisse with the "Death Rock" and the Disciples get the win and the Trios Championship...Damn! Although Catrina did
lick Ivelisse after the match...that was hot!

~ There is a great moment where Striker toasts Vampiro with a beer as he won't be calling next episode...he'll be fighting Pentagon Jr.

Match 3: Drago vs. Hernandez in a "Believer's Backlash" Match:

Notes: I have to be honest...I would have rather seen Drago in the LU Championship match (As a Triple Threat Match of course) so I
was never really keen on this match.

~ This match is one giant mess and I honestly think it was over-booked with so many belt carrying fans crowding the ring.
~ The fans helping Drago was cool...
~ Hernandez sure did take some belt shots...the man was covered in whip marks...even on his face...
~ Drago got the win...which I wanted...but I feel he deserved more than this for the season finale.

We end the episode with El Dragon Azteca attempting to enter the temple...but he is stopped by a character I'm calling White Hood.
It appears El Dragon is attempting to rescue Black Lotus...but White Hood declares the prophecy states he will die...El Dragon enters
anyway as the doors close behind him.

Highlights: The Mack vs. Cage, Catrina licking Ivelisse, Drago scoring the win,
the Striker/Vampiro toast segment...

Lowlights: Team Havoc losing the Trios Championship, the "Believer's Backlash" Mess...

All in All...solid...but the match order really seemed out tonight. The Mack & Cage should have main evented and the Drago/Hernandez
match should have opened the night.

Episode 39: Ultima Lucha Pt.2 (The Final One!)

~ The show is dedicated to the memory of the original rudo "Rowdy" Roddy Piper...

~ It appears Michael Schiavello is taking Vampiro's place tonight...this should be interesting...

Match 1: Alberto El Patron vs. Johnny Mundo:

Notes: This better be good...because their last match was awesome!

~ Too much time was spent pissing around outside the ring...
~ Once in the ring the action was good...but...nowhere near as good as their first encounter...
~ Alberto finally locked in the armbar but Melina appeared and hit him with the AAA Championship belt and it allowed Mundo to score
the win...WTF?!
~ So...we couldn't get Melina any earlier than episode 39?
~ Alberto puts Mundo through a window...and then Alberto "spanked" Melina...Okay...and Mundo appears to be bleeding quite badly...
but the camera doesn't linger on him long enough...

~ Next is a dungeon segment with El Dragon Azteca attempting his rescue of Black Lotus...but of course Dario shows up. They
tease the reveal/release of Matanza but Black Lotus grabs El Dragon and kills him with a spine punch...WTF?

Dario then decides to do the bolt and takes Black Lotus and Matanza with him...but they still don't reveal Matanza...what a tease.

Dario has to build a new temple...

Match 2: Vampiro vs. Pentagon Jr. in a "Cero Miedo match" No disqualifications, no count outs, and anything goes:

Notes: This match interested me the most with hopefully the eventual reveal of the master...

~ Okay...so Vampiro is dressed as a satanic pope...that is cool...and it reminds me of that band Ghost...check them out.

And...and...I honestly have no idea where to begin with this. It is the most visceral wrestling "match" I have seen since Hell in A Cell at King of the Ring 1998. I just can't really sum it up in words...this match effected me in a way that wrestling has never effected me before...Its actually hard to explain.

The chair shots, the thumbtacks, the light bulb tubes, the mask ripping, the blood, the blood licking, the burning table, Vampiro on fire...it was completely insane and like a slow motion car accident I couldn't turn away from.

Pentagon scored the win...(although really both these guys lost) and he gets on the mic and calls to his master. Vampiro isn't done yet and demands Pentagon break his arm...WTF?! So...time for the shoulder snapper and...crack! Damn...

Pentagon once again calls for his master and now Vampiro has a mic...

"Pentagon! You're looking for your teacher...Well, let me tell you something. As your teacher I tell you, you are ready, my son."

Oh God...Vampiro is the master...and Pentagon bows at his feet before the two embrace in the middle of the ring.

vampirolucha.jpg

And it doesn't matter what comes after...because nothing will top that match and that reveal.

Thank you Vampiro...
Thank you Pentagon Jr...
I Thank you for the blood and pain...and making wrestling feel so real.

I'm sorry...but I have to stop writing this now...

*Comes back 3 days later*

Okay...so I've recovered from that match...moving on...Next up is...

Match 3: A Seven-way Match Aerostar vs. Bengala vs. Big Ryck vs. Fenix vs. Jack Evans vs. King Cuerno vs. Sexy Star
for the Gift of the Gods Championship:

Notes: Honestly...its going to take a lot for this match to outshine what Vampiro and Pentagon did...

~ I'll be happy with Fenix, King Cuerno or Sexy Star winning...
~ Big Ryck is actually wearing wrestling trunks this week...weird...
~ Aerostar hits the spot of the match with a third story flop onto some bodies below...fucking amazing!
~ Jesus...Marty the Creeper is back...and he's attacking my Bae Sexy Star...Thankfully Sexy kicks his ass again...serves
you right you creeper!
~ The match is filled with some great spots...but it is a bit of a mess.
~ Jack Evans has Fenix locked in a tarantula hold...but Fenix and delivered some brutal knee shots before hitting the
Firedriver for the win and the brand new title! Nice! Although clearly King Cuerno is not happy...

Match 4: Texano vs. Blue Demon Jr. in a No DQ Match:

Notes: Why do I get the feeling the Crew are going to ruin this match?

~ And its basically a 4 on 1 attack with Blue Demon Jr. eventually getting the "win" with Chavo and the Crew helping him.

Well...that was a waste of time...

Match 5: Prince Puma vs. Mil Muertes for the Lucha Underground Championship:

Notes: This is it...the final match...the title on the line...light vs. darkness...Puma vs. Mil...and here we go!

~ Catrina is at ringside...Hot!
~ No Konnan...I have no idea where he's at...
~ The match spills into the stands...
~ Puma hit Mil with a random shoe...lol
~ Puma used Catrina as a "weapon" against Mil...Hot!
~ The action finally moves into the ring...
~ Its a great match with many near falls with both performers showing their skill, power and speed...
~ And it finally ends when Mil hits a Flatliner off the top rope...1,2,3...
Mil Muertes is the new champion...and Catrina gives Puma a lick as the Disciples
enter the ring and the "Death Cult" stand tall with their gold...and its a very imposing image to finish with.

Of course now we get a final backstage video segment of the season:

~ Dario Cueto & Black Lotus make a quick getaway with the cash and the red bull statue. They leave in a black SUV which
is lugging a horse trailer...and...Oh God...I can see Matanza...he wears a mask like Kane!

~ Finex and his new title slides into a gorgeous gold Pontiac Firebird...Fenix pulls out to joy ride down the street...only we get
to see King Cuerno in his truck ready to stalk his newest prey...

~ We now see Marty the Creeper...and who is he talking to? Oh No...Oh God No! Its Sexy Star! He has Sexy Star tied up hostage!
Someone do something!

lucha-underground-season-2-sexy-star-marty-the-moth.jpg

~ Angelico, Son of Havoc & Ivelisse hit the open road together stating that they will get the Trios Championship back...I hope so...

~ Aerostar & Drago share a forearm handshake before they each ascend to the heavens...Wow...that was cool!

~ We now see Master & Student, Vampiro & Pentagon...and they are going to a dark place...God Damn...that gave me chills...

~ White Hood dons the mask of El Dragon Azteca before spray painting a giant question mark on the temple sign...

~ And with fade out with Dario Cueto "moving without moving" gliding away from the ring...

To Be Continued...

Highlights: Vampiro vs. Pentagon Jr, the final backstage segment, Fenix winning the Gift of the Gods title, the Death Cult rising to power...

Lowlight:
I could list a few...but fuck it...I'll give them a pass...

Final Thoughts: Well...I've finished watching the first season of Lucha Underground...and well...it was fantastic. The wrestling is great, the characters are interesting and the overall presentation is the best I've seen on a wrestling show.

Every match (for the most part) seems to matter and each performer is given a chance to shine...for better or worse. Ultima Lucha itself was a bit of mess at some points...but overall it was a great way for the season to finish.

There are so many performers on the roster I enjoyed watching and I never had the urge to skip or skim through matches because of this.

I know through this recap I've made a point of obsessing over Sexy Star...but...Drago, King Cuerno, Pentagon Jr, Fenix, Mil Muertes, Angelico, Prince Puma...all of them are 1st class performers who should praised for their efforts.

Well...I was going to write up a full end of season recap...but...I am pretty worn out at this point...so I'll just end with this.

This show is awesome...And I will be hunting down Season 2 as soon as possible...

Thanks for taking the time to read this...and I'll see you round the lucha...

I miss this show. Maybe you can get caught up on seasons 2 and 3 before May 31?
