The Dark Knight Rises

Directed by: Christopher Nolan

Starring: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman

Release Date: July 20, 2012

Premise: Following the death of District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman assumes responsibility for Dent's crimes in order to protect Dent's reputation and Batman is subsequently hunted by the Gotham City Police Department. Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, Batman returns to Gotham where he must discover the truth regarding the "enigmatic" Selina Kyle while facing the villain Bane and stop his plans to destroy the city

This would have to be one of the most anticipated films of 2012. Following on from The Dark Knight will be an almost impossible task because that film was a massive critical and financial success. I myself wasn't a big Batman fan but I went to the cinema to see Dark Knight and I thought that it was incredible.

This is the final installment of the Nolan/Bale trilogy of Batman films and I am sure that they will go out with a bang. Catwoman and Bane are the villians in this movie and Tom Hardy looks like a beast in that poster.

Is anyone else looking forward to this film? Do you think it can live up to the hype and will the trilogy end on a high?

Definitely going to go see this once it is released. It has that same feel as the Dark Knight had and it should be a really good film considering who is involved.

Seen the trailer on YouTube just a couple weeks ago, the same one Troy posted.

I am definitely going to see it in cinemas when it comes out as I have with the previous movies. Batman films (The Dark Knight especially) always have a great storyline/plot whatever, producers and lineup of actors. It looks like a great flick from the trailers.

But tbh, I think The Joker/Heath Ledger made the last movie great. R.I.P.

The Dark Knight was great but after seeing it I couldn't look at a pencil for weeks. Not sure if I trust another one of these.

Yeah Dark Knight was a very thought provoking and sinister film, funny enough I was watching it again last night, still a chilling performance from Ledger, just shows you what a talent he could have gone on to be. Anyway film wise this one of my must sees of 2012. Heathway is growing as an actress all the time and I am excited to see what she does with Cat Woman.

A Cut of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Now Exists | Film School Rejects

According to this article, a finished cut of the film was just screened for Warner Bros. executives.

I REPEAT, the film is now COMPLETE. It just needs to be edited to perfection.

You have no idea how pumped I am for this, breh. Tom Hardy, along with the rest of the cast, are amazing actors. While none can touch Heath Ledger, I think the plot for this film will be a lot more developed. TDK, Ledger removed, is not that great, to be completely honest. It was my favorite for a while...until I became a film major.

I can't wait to see this film but I think I already know how this film is going to go down as I've just pretty much finished the Comic Book ark of Knightfall..

This where the legend ends and if my money is correct, this film will be an incredibly anti-climatic finale tbh.

I don't care how it ends... I just can't wait to see it. Tom Hardy is a beast of a man and he is going to deliver in this film. The series has been incredible and it needs closure and this feels like it will be closure rather than continuing on and on and on.

I cannot wait to see this film.

As a huge Batman fan.. I'm not that excited to see this. I really dont like Bane. The villians in this movie arent enough and they should have added Riddler. That way, they could have had a wave of crimes with clues that the cops couldnt solve or solve in time and Batman 'The Worlds Greatest Detective' is he only one who can solve these.

If you think the riddler is too cheesy, well dont. This is a realistic take on it, right? You know what a realistic version of Riddler is? Think 'The Zodiac' meets John Doe from '7'.

This movie could have been amazing, but Nolan dropped the ball so hard.
