My ex wasn't a cat person, but at least he was never mean to her or anything. Just kinda ignored her

ignoring a cat is an insult lol but yeah mine liked cats but he wasn't as into animals in general as i was

I lived with him when she died, and he made me feel so bad. He didn't get it, and after I was crying for pretty much three days straight his exact words were "it's a fucking cat, when are you gonna get over it?"

It was a cat that I had since I was six years old and was pretty much my best friend

he treated you like crap so expecting him to understand compassion is wasted effort. People like him don't deserve relationships or animals.
