Jericho Speaks

Chris Jericho was interviewed Sunday night on Live Audio Wrestling, here are the highlights:

- Y2J talked about doing improv comedy.

- Jericho said he has heard the rumor about him returning to Raw in September. Y2J said he seems to be the last to know.

- Jericho plugged his upcoming book, which he started working on in August 2005. He said he was surprised how much actual work goes into writing a book.

- He said every word in the book was written by Y2J. Jericho said the book is almost done, and all the pictures have been selected.

- Y2J said the book comes on this fall.

- Jericho said he had a journalism degree prior to entering the pro wrestling business.

- Jericho said he was really burnt out when he left WWE, but thanks to his extended leave of absence, could envision a return to wrestling someday.

- He said he was fortunate to have worked fifteen straight years in pro wrestling, making a good salary and being able to avoid major injuries.

- Jericho said he never subscribed to the notion that you had to have a big body go get you over, when asked about steroids.

- He was surprised that the guys mentioned in the Sports Illustrated article left a paper trail.

- Y2J wonders if anyone really cares about the steroid story?

- Jericho mentioned that HBK isn’t big, and no one cares that he’s not huge. Y2J pointed out that Bruce Lee was tough in his day, and he wasn’t “big.â€￾

- Y2J has no regrets doing the “Celebrity Duets,â€￾ as he considers himself a music historian. He said it was fun to hang out with all the musical celebrities, and had a great time, including rocking with Little Richard.

- Jericho talked about touring with Fozzy, including a recent tour of UK, their fifth tour of the United Kingdom . He said the band goes through cycles, including working on a new record.

WWE apologizes to the WWE Universe, Raw's "Power to the People" voters, and especially Sin Cara and Evan Bourne. The match vote was skewed by a heavy backlog of votes from the Divas Title Match. More details on WWE.com throughout the day.
LMAO is all I can say. They should make it up by doing Bourne/Cara at SmackDown or next weeks RAW.

I'm not one to call work, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is their way of trying to make Sin Cara look better. I mean, they've never had a problem with text voting before (to my knowledge) and Cara looks ridiculous with Mason being voted over him. Sounds like they're just saving face.

Monday’s “Power to the People” edition of Raw gave the WWE Universe the ability to choose what they wanted to see on their television screens. Unfortunately, technical difficulties created by an influx of heavy voting traffic resulted in not every one of the more-than 697,000 recorded votes to be properly counted.

As a part of this interactive event, WWE fans were given the option to text A, B or C to 46993 (GOWWE) in order to decide what they wanted to happen during Raw. Things went perfectly at first when text votes selected Kelly Kelly (option B) to take on Brie Bella for the Divas Championship. However, our vote tabulating provider’s system became overwhelmed, resulting in these votes to spill into later polls. This technical mishap soon led to Mason Ryan (also option B) being voted into a match against Evan Bourne — even though, as it was later discovered, Sin Cara had received 90 percent of the total votes in WWE.com's Live Chat poll, and should have been Bourne's opponent.
Stand by for more details to be reported by WWE.com throughout the day.
90% lol, quite the difference to what we say on TV

 shit 90% now that sounds like how it should have been. Considering people apparently had to pay to vote I hope they end up doing Cara/Bourne soon since that is like the most overwhelming vote disparity I can ever remember for one of these things.

I'd say that Vince just wants Bourne/Cara for a PPV and did'nt wanna give it away on free tv so he fucked with the voting system, claimed it was an error and blamed it on the divas voting...

If that's the case, why would he make Cara an option, especially against two guys he knew he'd get voted over?

Votes for the third poll’s bout — Kane vs. Mark Henry in an Arm Wrestling Contest — were counted correctly. However, problems began to occur again during the next poll determining a match stipulation between United States Champion Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston. At this point, so many text votes were received that the system overloaded, crashed and had to be restarted.

With little information to work from, WWE management selected to follow the system’s earliest projections, which determined that the 2-out-of-3 Falls Match had been the people’s choice. It was not until later that it was discovered that “Vickie Guerrero Banned from Ringside” was actually the top vote getter.
Restarting the tabulating system allowed for things to run smoothly with the voting for the Triple Threat Match to determine a No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship going off without a hitch.
Just a bit more news released by wwe.com I was pleasantly surprised 2/3 was chosen even though I honestly thought Vickie being banned would have been the obvious choice

Hilarious, if true. It must somehow be true because there's no way Mason Ryan winning that poll is believable in the slightest. When he won I was like WHAT?

It was funny when Mason Ryan won, I expected Swagger to get more than him too.

WWE knows it was an error on their part, so hopefully they'll do the right thing and make it up to us with Bourne/Cara.

From the front page of WWE.com

In light of unfortunate technical problems that definitively generated an inaccurate voting result in Evan Bourne's match during Raw: Power to the People, WWE is making it up to you, the WWE Universe, and Sin Cara, the masked Superstar whom you voted to have compete against Bourne.

This Monday night on Raw, Sin Cara will get the opportunity he deserved, and the match you demanded, as he will face Evan Bourne in the ring in Las Vegas.

The decision to make this match stems from technical issues with the vote tabulating provider’s system, which became flooded with so many votes from the previous poll - choosing an opponent for the Divas Title Match - that the vote tabulation spilled into the next poll, which determined Bourne's opponent. It appeared that you had voted for Mason Ryan, who shared the same option entry (B) as Kelly Kelly from the previous poll, until it was later discovered that Sin Cara had actually received 90 percent of the total votes in WWE.com's Live Chat poll.

Never let it be said that WWE does not hear the WWE Universe. Therefore, to set the record straight, WWE will grant the match that you and Sin Cara hoped for. These two aerial specialists will meet in Sin City Monday night, in what will surely be a contest of speed and agility unlike any other you've witnessed.

Looks like the match is going to happen next Monday, should be solid if given a decent amount of time.
