I advanced through this Ryback/Cena story too quickly and did the segment that I should have saved for the go-home show, on the week before the go-home show.
So, I did Extreme Rules the same way they did in real life essentially. That included Ryback spearing Cena through the stage and Cena needing to be taken out on a stretcher, but refusing to go to the hospital. Rather than do an Ambulance Match for some reason I decided I'd book a stretcher match. I then Ryback strap Cena to a stretcher and throw him off the stage. So, Cena is injured obviously, and to prevent any further issues, Ryback and Cena were banned from the arena for Raw. They had a video confrontation where Ryback said he was looking to end Cena's career.
And that was all leading up to now, which is the go-home show. Now, since I feel the need to escalate things once more, my idea was to do one of those ongoing promos throughout the show type things. My idea was for Ryback to host this mock funeral for Cena's career with a bunch of plants in attendance wearing Cena gear and what not. There would be a couple of these segments where Ryback is just shitting on Cena and what not, and in the final segment of the night, Cena would actually show up and attack Ryback at the graveyard (I'm imagining it being a scenario where he basically blends in with all the plants). My only concern with this angle is that it maybe betrays the stretcher match stipulation.
Am I overthinking it? And if not, would it be crazy to change the stipulation the week of the PPV to make it like a Last Ride match instead of a stretcher match?
