scums r usually given fake claims or would have their scummates guiding them

but that role looks soooo useless for town

its a super powerful role but its a double edged sword.

if he hides behind town and doesnt die, he essentially confirms them as town.
ig he hides behind non-town (dunno how his is worded, sometimes its scum only) he dies.

so usually, the way to go is hider drops a hint at night. if he dies, u look for the clue at who he hid behind to find scum.
