In the Year of Darkness, 2029, the rulers of this planet devised the ultimate plan. They would reshape the Future by changing the Past.
The plan required something that felt no pity. No pain. No fear. Something unstoppable. They created 'THE TERMINATOR'

A TERMINATOR MAFIA GAME

A human soldier is sent from 2029 to 1984 to stop an almost indestructible cyborg killing machine, sent from the same year, which has been programmed to execute a young woman whose unborn son is the key to humanity's future salvation.

THE RULES

Night posting IS ALLOWED. Post at your own risk. You never know who's watching.
Caution is advised when role revealing. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.
You NOT reveal the name of your character or your flavor. Role and alignment is fair use.
Everything pertaining to this game should be contained to this thread.
DO NOT discuss anything about the game outside this thread, on social media or in PMs.
DO NOT monitor, quote and/or screenshot private messages for game use.
Always paraphrase your role PM and/or your results given in PM.
First day will be 48 hours and each subsequent day 24. Every night lasts approximately 12-18 hours.
If I feel you're being inactive I might send you a warning...
and if you don't post for a couple game days, I might be forced to rep you out. Please participate.
If you've never played mafia before, you may find this link helpful!

The host has final say on all matters concerning the game.
If you have a question about how a role resolves, please accept the answer given.
Don't try to break the game.
Try to keep the flaming to a minimum. Remember to have fun!

Always play to your own win condition(s):
As always town must eliminate all threats to town in order to win...
and will fail to do so when they can no longer achieve a lynch on their own.
Mafia need to gain control of the vote or stop town from being able to lynch on their own.
Independents - Mafia - Town win in that order if it becomes unclear who won.
Your detailed win conditions will be in your role conversations.
Town are the Human Resistance and Mafia are the Machines.
Role PMs, however, will mostly just refer to you as town or mafia.
There will be a lot of role overlap.
Some of the time it will be town/town, scum/scum, or even town/scum so I wouldn't hunt on this alone.
I would seriously suggest not hunting on flavor, it can lead you astray.
There is always a strong possibility of players changing alignments.
Either given a choice, not given a choice or activated purely off how the game unfolds.
The game will be alerted publicly whenever a piece of the board switches sides.
Blocked shots are nonrefundable.

Okay so basically, the early game is going to consist of basic banter between players, most of the time the first few pages will be joking but it gets serious pretty quickly.

As a new player, depending on your alignment, you're gonna want to focus on two things.

If you're town, my recommendation would be to get a feel for who you think is town. That means reading people's posts and looking at their content and getting a read, whether or not their line of reasoning seems natural or makes sense.

If their train of thought doesn't make sense to you, generally asking questions about it is the best way to go. Sometimes the Mafia are really good at manipulation however, so you shouldn't believe everything everyone says unless you have a very good feeling they are being truthful or their role confirms them as town.

Since this is a smark game, there is likely to be several roles within the game itself. It is a good idea to not hint or out your role unless you have evidence on another person's guilt or you are forced into it by being voted. Being voted isn't a be all end all situation as there are times where you can get out of being voted out of the game through reasonable discourse.

Now, all this is based on you being town. If you're scum, the idea is to basically adhere to this advice I gave you and manipulate it into being read town. The point of being mafia is to manipulate town into voting for one of their own. So blending in and acting like a town would is a reasonably hard thing to do but it isn't impossible.

Another thing I would mention is that you are not allowed to discuss mafia outside of this thread while the game is going on. So unless you're talking to Smark himself, refrain from talking about the game to anyone else outside this thread.
