For the record, as I didn't really make it clear, I am not expecting him to have an in-ring return. There are a lot of roles someone like him could do, like Arn, Taz could run an enforcer type character, or even a "trainer" role within Heymans Clients. Keeps him protected, and we would still get to see the Tazmission from time to time.

He could always sit back down at the announce table, go back to doing History of ECW on 24/7, add an extra experienced voice to creative, assist in the developmental, scout, etc. The guy has been around long enough, and done nearly everything there is to do role wise in wrestling, to be a versatile asset.

Yeah, I think he'd make a good road agent too. He knows how to work a match so having him talk to up and coming stars would be very beneficial. That would be the only reason WWE should bring him back. No reason for him to return to TV unless it's commentary and I think JBL has easily replaced him even if I have found Taz pretty hilarious these past couple months as part of the A&Es.

Him being in any sort of bodyguard role is laughable though.

It all depends on how its booked. If you know the character from ECW, it's not laughable at all. The guy was known for taking out much larger guys, and usually in squashes. He even had one of his best matches against Big Show. A quick interference, outside attacks, and throw in a "no touch" contract, and you have yourself a guy that can actually do damage, that would get people "fired" for retaliating. A perfect heel enforcer.

NXT is currently a revolving door of announcers, the last spoiler that went up I am pretty sure had a different team for each week. Taz & Regal together could be gold, like Monsoon/Ventura. Both very knowledgeable, both capable of telling the story. His track record(along with Raven, Heyman, & Dreamer) of bringing up new guys to take over for the in & out wrestlers in ECW, could definitely be an asset to NXT, or the new territory they want to open up.

I wouldn't call that a bodyguard, I'd call that instigator.

I never called it a bodyguard either, it is basically a manager, that can realistically dish out damage(did anyone ever think Mr. Fuji could legitimately do the damage he did as a manager?), but for lack of a better term, I used enforcer(as that's what Arn did after his injury). Its a character that is missing from WWE, as Big E isn't in a manager type role, and there are very few people who could take a role like that.
