Stingy Jack and the Jack O' Lantern was named after him and subsequently so was Jack Skellington, The former Pumpkin King and your predecessor.

Edit: Not sure why the Jack O'Lantern was named after him... never read that far into the legend.. I just remember reading it this past Halloween actually lol

I would say a mythical character associated with "All Hallows Eve"? I personally think the "Jack-O-Lantern"was derived from the character in Hallow's Eve

You, good sir, are correct! Ole Stingy Jack was the man who fooled the Devil. The Jack O'Lantern is correct as well, so you get two points, good sir! As well, the Jack O'Lantern was named after him because he couldn't go to Heaven and he couldn't go to Hell, due to the Devil keeping his part of the bargain him and Jack made. So ole Jackie boy was cursed to walk on Earth with a ember in a Turnip, later a Pumpkin, warning others not to do what he did. That is why my dear good sir. So all be warned don't be like poor ole Jackie boy.
