His contract does not extend to in ring appearances in a wrestling capacity. Neither does Daniel Bryan's. The company policy is clear. One more concussion could kill them. Either of them. The same is true of Edge. All of the people wishing for one more match are literally begging them both to risk their lives for a couple of minutes of entertainment.
Got a few things to comment on here.
For starters, Edge didn't retire because of concussions. Edge retired because of Cervical Spinal Stenosis, basically a neck/vertebrae issue (something about him losing vital fluid to protect his spinal cord according to WWE's statement) that would only take one bad bump to paralyze him from the neck down, a la Droz, or kill him. Maybe you were thinking of Christian, his low-key 'retirement' was because of concussions. As for Kurt Angle, does he even have an extensive history of concussions? From a cursory search I could only find evidence of two concussions in Kurt Angle's wrestling career, SummerSlam 2000 and some time in TNA. That doesn't mean he hasn't had more, or that the severity of each doesn't matter but that's not really a sticking point for him as far as I've been made aware. He broke his neck a lot and had a serious painkiller addiction that WWE would likely be more or just as wary about for him. Daniel Bryan's is the only of the three who had to stop competing because of concussions (granted, I know Edge has had plenty of them, enough to know the taste of one is copper, he mentioned this on George Stepnapalogus [I don't know how to spell his name] so it's possible if that injury didn't occur WWE would eventually pull the reins on him) because they started causing some chronic lesion that was causing him seizures.
As for lumping Edge in there, there's a huge distinction between Edge and Kurt Angle/Daniel Bryan. Edge was going to retire at 28 anyway against Christian, or at least that's what he wanted. Both Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan have expressed on several occasions a willingness to return to the ring. Bryan's even gone as far to say, that as long as he & his wife feel good about his health, when his current contract runs out he's going to go wrestle elsewhere. My point here is that, you're not going to guilt trip me into feeling bad about wanting to support two of my favorite wrestlers of all-time's desire to return to the ring. It doesn't even matter that their two of my favorites, I'll gladly support anyone trying to do what makes them happy. And as for the note of them risking their lives? This pro-wrestling, every match the wrestlers are risking their lives. Droz that I mentioned earlier, as far as my knowledge extends, did not have any prior neck injuries before the one that turned him into a quadriplegic. And the move that caused that, a running powerbomb, isn't even a move WWE has considered dangerous enough to ban, as far as I know anyway. Which I think further highlights my point that every match is dangerous because even safer moves can result in permanent injury. It's why I have the utmost respect for any individual that steps into the ring (outside of a few special cases, like Abdullah the Butcher because evidently he would cut people open without their consent in the ring, while he had Hepatitis C, giving other wrestlers Hepatitis C and costing them a career at WWE like Devon Nicholson) but if I was going to let the threat of injury or even death prevent me from enjoying the sport, I wouldn't be able to watch it at all.
Obviously you gotta be wary for those with heightened conditions, you can't treat everyone the same. Age and injuries do have to be considered but I don't always think that should mean never wrestle again. I certainly don't think the reaction to those wanting to see wrestlers who want to wrestle wrestle should be, stop begging for their death. Not that I think you were necessarily intending to call everyone in this thread prior to your post some selfish monster who doesn't care about the well-being of the competitors if they can get a good match out of it, I think you just worded it that way to convey your perspective on the matter. But I couldn't help but be rubbed the wrong way, so I figure I should say something anyway.
As a side-bar to all this, I still think WWE should've let Miz/Bryan happen at Mania 33. Daniel Bryan didn't even have to bump, all the match needed to be to succeed was for Bryan to immediately lock in the LeBell Lock and tap Miz out in about 18 seconds. It would've sucked for The Miz sure but he could've bounced back easily. It would've provided fans a great payoff to a feud that came out of nowhere, give Bryan a sorta cheeky book-end to his career, ending his WWE note at least being in the reverse position to what started his popularity boom. And, much like the Bret/Vince match a few years prior, there was no risk of Bryan sustaining any injuries. With Kurt Angle, I don't think the injuries are that bad, like Bryan bad, but will see if they ever do transition him into an in-ring role, which I suspect they will.
