Which wrestler he'd like to face that he hasn't yet: "I'd have to say the top one... Undertaker. I think wrestling fans have wanted to see Sting vs. Undertaker for years. I think between his gimmick and mine, it could be pretty cool. We could do some pretty cool stuff."

If he has any regrets over not joining WWE: "Yes and no. Who wouldn't want to say that they've done at least one WrestleMania? I'm not going to lie to you, I wish I had done one of those. I've had great conversations with him [Vince McMahon] over the years and been real close on three or four different occasions. There was always a need met or desire of mine met with WCW or with TNA, so I stayed."

When was the last time he almost joined WWE: "Last year... we were very, very close."

The audio interview is available here.
Wonder if this will ever still happen? Would certainly make a great attraction for next years Mania that's for sure.

The window on it happening is closing since Taker probably will be done by next year. It should have happened last year as it was the perfect time to do it. He just seems afraid to go to WWE because he doesn't wanna show up just to lose to Taker but that would be better and way bigger than anything he can do in TNA. Him being in WWE is the only meaningful thing left for him to do but he seems content with TNA giving him anything he wants.

Don't see it happening now.

Taker's still under contract with WWE as is Sting with TNA. Taker's career is winding down, with it being reported that either Wrestlemania this year or next year is gonna be his last match. He should've taken the opportunity to make it happen when he did to jump ship to WWE to make this happen, instead of re-signing with TNA.

Money talks man TNA obviously managed to reach Stings negotiations and as for WCW they were just handing out money to their wrestlers .

As for Sting working Wrestlemania in all honesty I wish it had happened about 5-10 years ago I feel now that if it happened the match would not be good I think Sting is nowhere near the wrestler he was years ago and should retire and as for Taker him taking the extra time off has done him a world of good but even that can't protect him and he is gonna need a Triple H or John Cena to help him through a decent match not that he can't go with some of the younger blokes.

I'm sure WWE could match or one up any offer TNA gave Sting esp since it would all be for one match pretty much and to be put in the HOF. So they wouldn't even have the reduced schedule advantage either.

Agreed which is what I was saying in my first response as to why he stayed rather than go to WWE because TNA still has this belief that Sting is this huge draw that they must have.

Sting is a pussy, stop beating around the bush all of you.

Sting didn't leave WCW for the obvious reasons. They paid him out their ass with Time Warner. He was afraid of not only the WWF schedule, but length of matches which were far longer and more detailed than hit a spot, run in, and hit a spot that WCW had amounted to after the nWo craze.

He joined TNA because of a reduced schedule and half a mil a year. He wasn't asked to even work all the tapings or ppvs when he first worked for them in Nashville, and he wasn't asked his first couple years in Orlando. He would show up, taunt JJ, disappear for months, and so on. It wasn't until Spike really started pushing TNA into that Thursday and primetime slot was he told to put in work.

He had the chance to go to WWE last year. They left the video wide open enough for him and Taker to debut and return to it on the same night. He sued them for leverage to get yet another ppv and stroke to make sure he didn't job, got a title run, didn't have to blade like a lot of their roster, and got paid. At no point did he ever want to truly go to WWE.

We can talk the bull shit about him not wanting to promote sex, violence, crude language, or unholy behavior but he works for TNA. He signs on year after year to work in a company that paraded a mans kids out there to put up a custody story, which is what he degraded WWE for doing with Rey and Dominic. Double Standard. He talked about WWE having their women be put in too many lude situations, but then again he works for TNA where they did an angle about TBP giving the ref a blow job. Double Standard. He talked about the matches in the WWE being too brutal, but he has had feuds with Abyss. He talked about the WWE being too foul with their language, but Steiner, Angle, and countless others don't go a sentence without a cuss word. Double Standard.

I wish he would just have the balls to come out and say that he just doesn't want to be in WWE. I wish he had the balls to say that he knows he might be exposed like Goldberg was when asked to work lengthy matches and tell a story in the ring with psychology where he has to work a limb over using his bat, doing run ins, hitting spots, and only being asked to do 10 minutes of total work at best. I wish he would say the reason he didn't sign up for Taker point blank was because he can't come close to keeping up with Taker or the standards that Edge, HBK, HHH, Kane, and Dave have set with him at WM and he doesn't want to be that old guy who is looked at like a has been and got exposed in front of 70,000 live and millions watching around the world.

But he is too much of a pussy to say any of it, let alone all of it, as he rather be the big fish who is catered to in a aquarium than be a guppy in a ocean with the likes of HHH, Cena, Taker, and countless others who will go down over him in history because he ain't got the balls to be in the big league

Sting is a leech in wrestling, he doesn't really have the passion and his in-ring skills shows that with him hitting usually the same moves over and over so him coming in at this age to face Taker would be a travesty. If anybody knows Sting only became a wrestler because he thought it was going to be HUGE so he just latched on and for some reason people got behind him and now he is still in front of our TVs.

First off I love you just for this epic post.

Second your half right I am sure that Sting could keep up with some of the guys in WWE and he can certainly work better then Goldberg thats for sure but your right WCW and TNA were prepared to meet Stings demands WWE would not.

You missed the word "disappointment" off the end.
