“When she had told them (CMLL), they basically asked her and said you know ‘we won’t stand in your way or anything like that, if you want to go you can go, but just do business the right way’. She’s got the tag titles in CMLL, she’s got the CMLL singles title, and it was basically go to San Jose, where she’s been advertised for months and drop the title there, drop the tag title, we’ll do a farewell. And the feeling was, that they expected that of her and basically told her ‘look they want you (WWE) and they may not want you to do that, but you haven’t signed yet so you can just tell them, I want to go out the right way’. Then on Monday when she signed, she told them that Tuesday, which was last night in Guadalajara (July 9) was her last night, and she wouldn’t be coming to Arena Mexico on Friday, she wouldn’t do any of the dates – she’s got dates all over the world. The idea was to come to San Jose and drop the title and she didn’t do that. CMLL was very upset over her, you know because of what happened, and also they had never been targeted in this way by WWE.

“New Japan was very upset because when they first announced the show in San Jose she was in the first batch of people announced, and they have been advertised for months. It’s kind of like their basic thing is ‘you’ve been advertised for months for this show, in a championship match and then five days before the show you pull out, and you’re the champion’. AEW wasn’t happy because they did want her and they made an offer to her, but she went with WWE. That’s the place she wanted to go, but how it happened was not well received.”​

It could’ve been a WWE decision, but just thinking about it now seeing that they said that it was this Friday it doesn’t make much sense in the fact that the earliest she can start with WWE is the Tuesday after that. So it sounds like she probably just made the decision not to do anything.

Vince also used to let ppl finish their dates, as does Hunter. Like I said, her right and decision, but she burned some bridges big time here

I'd still lean heavy towards WWE suggesting / pushing (whatever word you wanna use) for her to pull herself out of the dates.

I don’t doubt it could have happened, but the Friday date seems like a no-brainer to let her do since that’s where she drops the belts and she can’t start before Tuesday. The rest of her dates no problem.

After her Forbidden Door performance, it was pretty clear that she was going to get scooped up sooner or later by AEW or WWE, and in WWE's case, they got her. The talent is 100% there and since Trips took control, he's tried his best to keep international talent feeling like themselves and find a balance between their presentation before and fitting it for a new audience. Hell, Shinsuke at least when he was being used was improved. So I think from a perspective of "Will she do well" it's likely-

Unless there's an attitude problem. It is just the reports of Dave, so he could have only got one side's retelling of the story. But her backing out of so many dates suddenly without doing things the 'classy way' is a red flag. Two major titles in CMLL not dropped, and thus interfering with booking plans and the momentum of others. Maybe there's a reason for it, but otherwise not the best look.

It could be such a combination of factors that I doubt if we get the full truth. Maybe WWE wants her to start immediately and doesn't want another Giulia situation of her possibly getting injured for example. Genuinely wouldn't be surprised if all the possible theories all played a part though

Talent have absolutely been pulled from commitments before, it's how the rumours of them signing with WWE happen. Whether that's the talent themselves or WWE asking them to is another thing.
