What are good MMA signings that WWE has made?

Alberrrrttooooooo Delllllll Rrrrrrriiiiiiooooooooooooo. (0 - 1 in MMA iirc )

Dan Severn was rotten, he didn't have a clue what he was doing. Some of the old Pride guys would of been tremendous in WWE though. Really wish they signed Bob Sapp as Lesnars replacement in '05.

Severn had an ok wrestling run Enough to say the signing was more succesful than failure.
Brocks return has been good
Shamrock had an amazing run
Del Rio did have some MMA tie ins

THere hasn't been allot of them but they've been more positive than not It's a good foundation to be succesful.

The only issue is if they are big star they will get pushed on tv and no time to develop

More positive than not because the ones that would have sucked weren't signed. You can't make an argument for that few people (and Brock doesn't count)

Del Rio had so little experience it shouldn't count either. Hell WWE has created more MMA guys than they've received.

Funny how some of you people sound exactly like the MMA elitists who shit on the fact that some guys did pro-wrestling but in reverse. Threre is a crossover audience that has been built in since day one. So ofcourse there is going to be a crossover of athletes as well, it has been a tad one sided in the past decade after MMAs explosion in popularity. But, lets be honest, MMA is losing the steam it had a few years ago and these guys are going to look for other oppurtunities to make money, while the money is drying up in their sport. Much like NFL stars were doing back in the days of Wahoo McDaniel and Ernie Ladd, who made more money in the off season doing wrestling than they ever did in football. And wrestling is something an athlete can do past their 40s when they learn the art of shortcuts. Just because few MMA guys haven't been succesful in this field, don't mean it can't happen.

Still don't think Bonnar is a good example of this, but not everybody can be Josh Barnett.

Also I quite liked Blackman too but did he really get over? Many would say he was one who bombed.

Severn's run was a bore but I blame the booking team just as much as him.

Blackman was over as a motherfucker, he was never going to be a huge star but I say he had a pretty successful and memorable career even if it was short.

Other than Barnett or Chael Sonnen, can't see any MMA fighter succeed in WWE? Those two are excellent promo cutters and would fit right in. Bonnar is entertaining, but he's more like Rampage. Funny guy, but never known for his speeches.

Because he's been the ONLY one so far and that was over a decade ago.

Not over

:hhh2:

Oh don't forget that one guy Daniel Puder

I could see it working I just don't know why anyone would think it's needed.

I never said he wasn't over I just posed the question because he didn't really advance above the mid-card and I remember many of his matches playing out in front of an in different crowd such as the match with Angle from 99. But I accept that he found a decent spot.
