Really loved it, but the ending was a bit wonky to me. Seong, Abdul, and Ji were my favorites in the show.

If you liked him, I highly recommend Train to Busan and some other films he's done. The fact he could have had a bigger role but took this smaller role and killed it. Respect.

Despite having limited screen time, the character is memorable when you see him pop up again.

Just watched the first two Episodes of Squid Game wow really great fucking stuff. I can understand people wanting to pay off debts and take care of their families because I would do that in a heartbeat for my loved ones. The 2nd Episode is amazing how they gave time to the people who were in the Game just to show how bad it is for them. You have that going on and that Cop seeing where they are being taken boy the rest of the Season should be crazy.

Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the most popular South Korean series that launched last year Squid Game, revealed that two big names in the survival drama series will be coming back for the second season.

According to Deadline, this reveal came at the magazine’s annual Contenders Television at Paramount Studios, where Hwang and actor Park Hae-soo, who played Cho Sang-woo in the series, joined TV editor Peter White to talk about some of the things that fans can expect for Season 2. During the event, the writer and director divulged that two characters in the series will be returning: the protagonist and one of the main antagonists. “Gi-hun for sure.” Hwang revealed, “He will be back, and I believe the Front Man will back too."

This year’s winner of the Screen Actors Guild Award for best actor for his role in the dystopian series, Lee Jung-jae, was Gi-hun, the only survivor and winner of the series of deadly kids’ games. At the end of the season, Gi-hun is shown deciding against going to see his daughter in the US, and instead, he appeared to have decided to put a stop to the brutal annual games he was a part of. The Front Man, on the other hand, played by Korean star Lee Byung-hun under the mask, is the antagonist who spearheaded the game’s organization, overseeing everything as the 456 penniless players risked their lives for the astounding prize of over 45 billion won.

The return of these characters should come as no surprise since they were part of the few that survived to the end of the series. Still, this was Hwang’s first official confirmation that fans will be seeing them back for Season 2. Around mid-March, the creator also said at PGA Awards that HoYeon Jung, who portrayed player 67, Kang Sae-byeok, could come back as a twin sister, however, this may have been only a joke.

Hwang also explained that the themes present in Squid Game, like economic inequality, will continue to be part of the Netflix series as well as his future works: “For this project and in future projects, it’s impossible not to consider the political polarization, the cultural differences and difficulties, as well as environmental climate changes that have been happening. I will be forced to observe and criticize and continue to handle these topics in future projects.”

Since it was released in September of last year, Squid Game became the most-viewed Netflix series. Fans around the world now eagerly await more details concerning Season 2 to come out.

Loved the Series and I kinda wanted Gi-hun to finally be a Dad for his Daughter in the US so the decision he made in the end I was torn with for sure. He wants Squid Game to end but I don't know how he does that done because no way does he get back into the Game again without being caught by Lee Byung-hun's Character In-Ho. Even if he wants to James Bond this shit you know the endgame ends like Jun-ho who is his Brother which to me could he be possibly be still alive? I really enjoyed his Cat and Mouse Game of staying on the Island I hope he's not dead.

Damn. At least it'll be surely worth the wait. In a way it might be a good to let it 'breathe' for a bit. Hopefully even more people see how good Season 1 is before the new one drops.

He was my pick to win it, very happy for him making history at the Emmy Awards

lee-jung-jae-emmy-win-2022.jpg

Lee Jung-jae became the first Asian actor ever to win in the category after taking home the Emmy award for Best Actor in a Drama at this year’s Emmys for his performance in “Squid Game.”

“Thank you to the Television Academy, thank you to Netflix and thank you to the director for making realistic problems we all face come to life so creatively on the screen with a great script. Thank you, ‘Squid Game’ team. Thank you to everyone watching in Korea,” he said after accepting his award. He then went on to repeat his speech in Korean.

He was only the fourth Asian actor ever to win in any of the Emmy performance categories, and the first to win the drama award for a non-English speaking role.

Lee scored the win over a tough slate of competitors including Bob Odenkirk of “Better Call Saul,” Jason Bateman of “Ozark,” Adam Scott of “Severance,” and “Succession’s” Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong.

Lee earns his nomination after his breakout role in Netflix’s surprise hit “Squid Game.” The series premiered on the streaming service last September. Upon a successful showing, the South Korean drama was renewed for Season 2 in June. This is the “Hunt” director’s first Emmy nomination.

“Squid Game” has received 14 total Emmy nominations this year, and took home four Emmy awards at this year’s Creative Arts Emmy’s earlier this month. Most notably, actress Lee You-mi took home a gold statue for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series for her role as Ji-yeong.

HBO/HBO Max led the competition at this year’s ceremony with 140 nominations across all categories –– the most of any platform. Netflix follows with 105.

“Succession” leads the charge of programs with 25 nominations, while HBO’s “White Lotus” tied with “Ted Lasso” for second with 20. The Roy family-based dramedy is nominated for Outstanding Drama this year alongside “Better Call Saul,” “Euphoria,” “Ozark,” “Severance,” “Squid Games,” “Stranger Things,” and “Yellowjackets.”
