I didn’t mind the Max Dupri character. I actually liked his look and a little bit of that character, but I do think as far as being a manager was not what was best for him. If he could’ve found a middle ground between those characters and also continued to wrestle and not be a manager. I think the Max Dupri gimmick change could’ve worked, but he needed a little bit more LA Knight in there and to wrestle.

I probably agree with you more than anyone else on this forum. I’m someone that when I think something especially like a group I don’t think they ever need to end it because I like what I like and I don’t like it to be taken from me, but where I probably split from you is I don’t think nothing should ever change because that would be boring. Sometimes some people need to switch it up and sometimes it’s better after they’ve switched it up.
If it works, it works, no need for change where it's unnecessary. I could genuinely watch something I like over and over and never get bored once.

Yeah, this could've worked.

I agree the making him a manager part was dumb as fuck.

What, I think is funny is that WWE probably just pretends didn’t happen is technically Maxxine Dupri got introduced as his sister and she’s still going by that name even though Max was like that’s not my name and went back to LA Knight.

In the year that Austin had to take away for his neck injury, the rock and triple H became major players at the top of the card. Austin coming back and just doing what he was doing before just wasn’t gonna be possible and this was proven when they attempted to go back backwards in 2002 and it just flamed out.

I say this is a major Austin fan who actually thinks Stone cold had one of the best runs of his career in 2001 and that’s when he actually switched it up and did something different even if we don’t both love everything he did with his character that year.
He never needed switch it up, I hate the finish to WrestleMania 17, I think it's one of the worst of all time.

I do think they made some joke about it one time when they was on screen together.

Like I said 2002 proved that to be untrue.

Point is, before this became about a million other wrestlers, is I liked the MJF who takes cheap shot and goes for the low hanging fruit, a bad guy should be the "king of the low hanging fruit".

Although, I do think people are probably jumping the gun, I don't think we've seen the last of MJF making it extremely personal and bringing up someone's friend or loved one for heat.

His earlier heel turn didn't work for a certain segment of fans either, maybe it was just time for him to hang up the boots.
He did. Got his final match with Rock and got out.

As for the heel turn, you really can’t judge that properly considering they decided to do it at the exact moment that the rock went off to make movies. If they had rock when he was the most over waging war against a heel stone cold and Vince McMahon probably would’ve drawn some good money, but they decided to do everything at the wrong time. Unfortunate.

I genuinely don't believe it would've worked even then.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree because I don’t see why it wouldn’t because even if people didn’t like a heel stone cold, a baby face rock against anybody that was even marginally over would’ve made money in 2001.

I think he's still her kayfabe brother.

Paranoid Heel Austin had a couple of parts to it that were even better than quite a lot of things about his character work during them major Austin/Vince feud. Character-wise. It also helped he could play off Kurt during that time.
