I don't think they've really done anything "unthinkable" unless you count putting Mason Ryan on TV.
And I agree with the philosophy on Punk, the problem is he got to play by a different set of rules than everybody else and he's been force fed to the audience for 6 months, and he still isn't making the impact he should. Anybody could get big pops with his kinda push, but they're like Orton pops, they cheer because he's perceived as a top guy, the reality is all of his title reigns fail (Just like Orton) for a reason. AND his promos bury the entire show to prop himself up, which is gay.
Cena can still be PG and be good...he just needs to actually give a damn and sell things. I go back to his Nexus retirement speech, which was entirely PG, but he put real emotion into it, which is like the one time he has in 5 years, and it's his best promo, even a year later.
