You and your immediate household family was selected to participate with nearly 300 other people in colonizing another planet very much like Earth.

The good part about it is you would be paid outrageously and you and your family back on earth would be set for generations. You would go down in the history books as one if the first new settlers of a new planet. You might even discover resources there that could help earth's problems. And don't worry, this planet has more than enough resources to keep you alive for a lifetime.

The downside is, you would need to be cryogenically frozen to survive the journey, along with your spouse and kids. It would take hundreds of years to get there and everyone you know on earth would be long dead when you wake up. Science and technology on earth will have advanced beyond your comprehension.

Would you do it?

So basically this would be like Demolition Man in a way assuming you've seen that movie. Idk in theory it sounds like a great idea but in the end don't think I wanna wake back up after all that time to a world I know nothing about and without some people outside of my house hold that I'm friends with or are family. Plus no telling what could happen during all that time that could screw up the whole plan.

Interesting, but no for me. As much as I'm for science, exploration and discovery, I'm not willing to sacrifice the friends I've made, the life I've forged and the world I know. I'm not willing skip that human experience.

I wouldn't do it but it all depends tbh, so many factors come into play.

Even though your family could come with you I defiantly wouldn't leave my life, friends, and whatever else makes life great. I know you would be apart of something great, but it just doesn't seem worth it I would only consider it if this Earth was about to fail and going would guarantee you to live.
