Following the first event of the calendar year in the pro-wrestling world - a Major announcement was made in Mexico City. It confirmed that Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and Pro Wrestling NOAH had come to an agreement to become one super promotion and would continue to primarily run all of their shows out of Mexico an Japan and would do so under the moniker 'Alianza Azteca Asiática' or AAA for short. No dates of future events have been announced, but with a shared past of tag team matches on opposing team fans have go onto social media and made it clear that a dream match between Dr. Wagner, Jr. & Go Shiozaki would be a perfect way to begin this new alliance.

Shane McMahon would confirm during an Instagram Livestream - that prior to WWE filing for bankruptcy during the last summer, he had purchased exclusive rights to NXT. Shane would reveal that in the new year, he intended on turning the show into a development and training school for major promotion around the world. Shane would make it clear that he envisioned his version of next being seen in a similar fashion to that of Ohio Valley Wrestling in the past.

UK based promotion Progress Wrestling announce they are under control of new owner Matthew Benham. The multi-millionaire British businessman had revealed that he had no intention of making the promotion a global superpower, but instead wanted UK fans to have the opportunity to see some of the best wrestlers from around the world in their own back gardens and that he would be actively engaging with major promotions in the aims of convincing them to send workers to Progress to take part of international tour events.

Well, not the backstory I thought of, but I like that Juice made it canon now that wwe went under in August. Roughly the same timeframe and idea I was going for.

NXT will be somewhere for people Under 25 or with no wrestling experience - so expect a few randoms

Progress will be somewhere - you may choose to send some talent to Tour and gain experience etc.
