WWE taped the October 10, 2014 Smackdown episode from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
Here are the Smackdown spoilers:

Dark Matches

* Tyler Breeze defeated Xavier Woods, who played the babyface. Breeze got good heel heat for a NXT guy.

* NXT Champion Adrian Neville defeated Sami Zayn in an outstanding match. Neville won with Red Arrow and both men got a good reaction. There were loud “ole!” chants for Zayn also.

SmackDown

* Stephanie McMahon kicks off the SmackDown 15th anniversary show. She talks about SmackDown’s history but is interrupted by John Laurinaitis. Laurinaitis says he created the best era in the history of SmackDown – People Power. Teddy Long interrupts and has words with Laurinaitis. They go back and forth on who can make the biggest tag team match. Teddy calls for a 15 man match – 7 Superstars and a mini gator vs. 7 Superstars and a mini bull. It will be Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny tonight. The winner will be the greatest General Manager of all-time.

* Stephanie announces The Miz will host a face off between John Cena and Dean Ambrose tonight. Adam Rose comes out and tells Stephanie to not be a lemon. Rose wishes SmackDown a happy birthday, saying it’s party time all the time. He invites Stephanie to the party. She shuts down the Exotic Express and books Rose vs. Kane for tonight.

* Kane comes out and says he’s a party pooper tonight. He squashes Rose and wins with a chokeslam. Kane goes after The Bunny but he runs away. Kane destroyed all the Rosebuds as they tried to protect The Bunny.

* AJ Lee vs. Alicia Fox is up next. Paige came out with Alicia. AJ wins with the Black Widow. Paige runs in and hits AJ after the match but AJ fights them off with a double clothesline.

* Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler is announced for later.

* Kofi Kingston vs. Seth Rollins is next. Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury came out with Rollins. They are watching out for Dean Ambrose at ringside. Rollins gets the win with a Curb Stomp.

* They air a Wyatt Family vignette.

* Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler is next. Ziggler fought hard but Rusev got the non-title win with The Accolade. Lana cuts a promo on The Rock after the match. She says he will pay. Rusev challenges Big Show to a match on RAW.

* Backstage segment with The Rock, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon that appeared to be taped at RAW.

* Booker T comes out for the main event. Team Teddy is Mark Henry, Los Matadores, Sheamus, The Usos, Jack Swagger and El Torito. Team Johnny is Heath Slater, Titus O’Neil, Goldust, Stardust, Bo Dallas, Damien Sandow, The Miz and Hornswoggle. Slater and Sandow got big chants during the match. This was said to be an incredible and excellent match with lots of spots. One of The Usos got the pin for Team Teddy.

* They re-tape Seth Rollins vs. Kofi Kingston. Mercury and Noble were at ringside also. Rollins won again.

* MizTV is set up for the face off between Dean Ambrose and John Cena. Both got big pops but Cena's was bigger. They both complimented each other but Ambrose cut a better promo. Cena dissed The Miz and said Sandow was better. Cena and Ambrose attack The Miz to shut him up. Ambrose hits the Double Armed DDT on Miz but Cena hits Ambrose with an Attitude Adjustment to end the segment.

This will probably be better show than it appears from the spoilers.
Did the face off take place? It was announced so I can only assumed it was a taped at another time.
Having Vickie Guerrero would have been good only if she was there to promote Eddie Guerrero and his love for the business.
Rock and HHH always impressed me more than anything The Rock did with Steve Austin.
For me, the AJ/Paige is spinning its wheels and going in circles. It's time to bring in NXT talent because AJ being dominant cannot suspend my imagination.

Predictable and unimaginative booking aside, the show appears better than average.

Just seems like a way for Cena to lose cleanly to Ambrose. Fine by me.:russo:

No but really this sounds like a pretty damn good episode of Smackdown.. we'll see what I'm doing Friday but I'm definitely planning on watching the replay if I can't catch it during first airing.

Seems like a decent episode. But it's not like I can't wait to watch it.

I would have loved to see something involving JBL seeing as how he's the longest-reigning world champion in Smackdown history. Even if it meant being "Team Captain" (if there is such a thing here) for Laurantis' team in the main event since he and Teddy Long have a rivaled history with one another.

I also would have loved to see this promo from Main Event air on SD instead:

Hell, an interaction between Heyman and Stephanie would have been nice, too, since Heyman was the one who took the reins of Smackdown General Manager from Stephanie McMahon back in 2003, and as seen in the video he touts himself as the greatest General Manager of Smackdown in history. Stephanie could even retort that she was the one who persuaded Brock Lesnar to leave Raw to come to Smackdown in the first place back in '02. Plenty of history there.
