Well TNA are heading for the scrape heap anyway so it maybe doesn't make so much difference to them at this point, but it can to a company with more to lose. All I am saying is that I don't think Young is or has ever been cut out for the main event, that's not even a knock on him, many can't do the sort of comic mid-card roles he has done so well for years.
Nobody is cut out for mainevent status, you either adapt to it, or you go by the wayside. Not sure how you fault TNA for trying new things, they are headed towards the scrap heap, and what kind of viable options are there for them? They fucked up MVP already, he should've not even been in that investor storyline. He should've been the guy chasing the title. Jeff Hardy is off "being creative" with that shit Willow character and there is no other over enough face to push.

I think Eric Young is fine headlining this jojo indy company, but I think they shouldn't have hotshotted it in one night. Should've been months in the making.

I agree with you than the booking was all wrong, but I still disagree than he should be in that position anyway. Magnus should still be champion. Also, by your logic a company would just throw everyone into the main event at one time or the other which would be pointless for so many reasons.

Chris Sabin was their champ.

Obvious they have just thrown anyone in their mainevent.

Yeah, and Sabin might have worked as a stop-gap champ if they didn't have him lose it so quickly or make it so predictable than he would lose it.

AAAAAAND what's that got to do with anything? I used Sabin as an example of this company just throwing anyone into their mainevents. Way to miss the entire point.

No I got your point, but I see Sabin as a more creditable world champion than Young.

Obviously they didn't since he didn't defend it, and is now gone from the company.

They seem to have more faith in Eric Young, whcihc is the hand they dealt, now we it's time to see what the flop has for them.

Is Ethan Carter any good?

Just two matches announced at this point is pretty poor.

EC3 is one of the only watchable parts of Impact, but he's not great in the ring at all. He's just hilarious, especially with Spud. I'm a fan, but that match is going to be meh.

And two matches announced isn't poor at all (especially by TNA's standards, but even by normal ones). There's still 3 weeks left before the PPV.

Still it is supposed to be one of their top shows of the year. I just think they should be trying to get people eager to buy early.

TNA always book their PPVs a week in advance.

I was actually surprised the main event for this one was booked so early tbh

In an unfortunate turn of events, it looks possible TNA has lost its main event for the upcoming Slammiversary pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for Sun., June 15, 2014, at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. MVP, who was -- and still is as of this moment -- set to challenge Eric Young for the world heavyweight title, suffered a knee injury while working an independent show in Preston, UK over the weekend.

There's no report on what happened specifically, but during a tag match he was apparently brawling on the outside and he came up lame after something happened to his knee, forcing him to limp to the back.

The very next evening, he was back on crutches and informed the crowd he was forced to cancel the match due to "hearing a pop" in his knee. Initial x-rays didn't make clear the issue so an MRI was scheduled and he'll go from there.

There is no indication this is an angle and it appears MVP is legitimately hurt.

Oh MVP, first you book yourself into the title match and then go and get injured.

Not even the worst of their problems tbh, this was taken five minutes before one of their shows. Seriously doubt Spike picks them back up.
