– WWE has applied for registrations on two trademarks, Ryback and Avalanche.

The registration of the Ryback trademark suggests that Skip Sheffield will be repackaged with a new character upon his return from injury. Prior to assuming the cowboy persona in WWE’s developmental system, he appeared as Ryback, an indestructible “Terminatorâ€￾ style character billed from “The Future.â€￾

I followed his Ryback gimmick in FCW and it was done very well, I'd be looking forward to seeing it come back.

Thoughts?

I heard good things about the Ryback character, so when he debuted in NXT as a Cowboy... I was a little confused to say the least. The character didn't really fit what Skip Sheffield grew to become, but the gimmick that comes with the Ryback character doesn't sound very good to me. I didn't know that this was the gimmick, but I do hope it works out and isn't as lame as it sounds.

It does not sound lame but the Cowboy gimmick was God Awful. I think they would have been better off just having him be himself and destroy people but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Thinking about this character it seems like fail, But i haven't seen it so i can't judge it just yet. Its bound to be better than that 'Yip Yip blah' gimmick he had.

That spinning powerbomb looked so good!

He actually looks decent here.

Really happy to see this gimmick back instead of that stupid cowboy gimmick. He was really good in OVW as Ryback and to be honest OVW had a lot of great characters for the WWE wrestlers that weren't used when they were promoted another great example was "The Ripper" Paul Birchall.
