Following initial reports of Sin Cara's injury at Survivor Series, it has been confirmed that he will be sidelined for over 6 months. The official WWE Insider Twitter account posted the following update:

Injury Update: Sin Cara suffered a ruptured patellar tendon, and will be out for 6-9 months, following surgery.

Thoughts?

This shocks me because it looked like they planned that spot but I guess not. I think this is just the beginning of the end for him in WWE. He has pretty much failed so far in his WWE run and this is the last thing that needed to happen to him.

Totally agree, might as well bring Averno to work under the Sin Cara mask.

Biggest mistake by already unmasking Hunico.

I'd just get Averno and maybe a few Mexican guys if they want to keep the Sin Cara mask crap going on.

Honestly think they should just drop the Sin Cara gimmick. Him being out this long is gonna hurt the merch he moves anyways since that's part the reason they haven't gave up on it but think it's just time to give it up.

I actually like Sin Cara and think he has done well in WWE so far, with the exception of being suspended. Can't wait for him to come back. It sucks that we now know we won't be seeing Sin Cara vs Rey Mysterio at Wrestlemania 28.

Yup dreams of Guiness Records gone bye bye. As far as someone else working the mask they were saying on the PPV he'd be out for 6 months minimum so they must already be conceding the idea of a duplicate yet again.

I laughed at the fail, he didn't even jump.... but sad to see he is injured for that long.

Wow, figured it was just a work at first. Hope he's back earlier than that.

He hasn't set the WWE on fire since his debut. So i'm sure WWE will be disappointed that he's got injured, especially as the masks have sold well since his debut.

I kind of feel bad for the guy just being thrown in at the deep end like he has done and just expected to adjust to everything on the fly. With this long term injury, now is the perfect time for him to prove his commitment to the WWE. There's no reason for him now to not spend the 6 months or however long it he's actually out for in learning the English language. Also, if he's out for 6 months, go with the storyline option of 9 months and have him do a couple of months in FCW to fine tune his skills and what not.
