No, he hasn’t shown anything to warrant a town read besides his claim. He wanted to get lynched Day 1 because of his role. Disappeared and hasn’t really shown an effort to lead town at all, he’s been very antagonistic.

Id rather lynch Smark because I think he is a more capable player and would rather he didn't get another night phase as scum. Of course the statement was under the assumption both are scum with I believe they are.
