Millennium Films is working on the prequel to 1974's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre titled Leatherface, and the studio has set Seth M. Sherwood on the script, TheWrap has learned.
Plot details were not revealed, but the movie will tell the story of Leatherface's early years. One this is certain, however, there will be lots gore and dismemberment.
It is unclear if Alexandra Daddario, the star of 2013's Texas Chainsaw 3D, will be in the movie, but given the time frame of Leatherface, it's a good bet she won't, unless she's playing another character.
No director has been signed but one will be announced soon since production could begin as soon as this winter.
The budget for Texas Chainsaw 3D is around $20 million, so expect Leatherface to be within that amount also.
While I have no Ill will toward seeing what made Leatherface leatherface, I wouldn't mind a sequel to the last installment either since it was pretty decent.
