WWE Studios, Lionsgate Scare Up ‘See No Evil’ Sequel | Variety

WWE Studios is bringing “See No Evil†back to life, producing a sequel with Lionsgate to the horror film that will again star wrestler Kane as a psychopath that goes on a killing spree.

“See No Evil†was the first film that WWE produced through its film division, and went on to earn $19 million worldwide when it was released in 2006 — its biggest hit until this year’s Halle Berry thriller “The Call,†which generated $52 million to date.

Production on “See No Evil 2″ will start in the fall, with identical twin helmers the Soska Sisters Jen and Sylvia (“American Maryâ€) set to direct. They are also among the directors that will contribute to the anthology series “ABCs of Death 2.â€

Really didn't care for the first one but it was definitely one of WWE's better ventures before they got really in over their head. Interested to see the budget this one gets with the recent cuts in the budgets of other WWE Studios movies.

3rd best WWE film to date great that they finally did it. Another great idea would be a movie based on the kane "biography"

Eh don't really see it as a movie that needs a part 2 but it actually wasn't that bad so it's not a terrible idea.

Totally should do this as a Hills have Eyes get up and use the Wyatt Family as the antagonists to further the storyline between Kane & The Wyatts ;D!

Well if the team behind American Mary are involved then its possible that it maybe a rare case of a sequel improving on its original, because they have promise.

Still not seen part one but it is on Netflix so Think I might check it out soon. By making £19mill does that mean the first one made a profit? Am guessing it was pretty cheap to make.

Never saw it, but heard it did good numbers for WWE. If they can make similar numbers with #2 as they did for #1, I think they'd be pleased.

I actually liked the first one, borrowed heavily from the 80s slasher flicks including psycho mother. And seeing as this one is being done by actual directors of horror instead of a porn director, should just improve on the first.

Does this movie take him out of the building he was haunting? How did he survive falling off a building into an atrium building where glass hit him in the head and then have a dog piss on his head?

DVD better have another commentary track with Kane, that was a highlight for me in the first movie listening to this man talk outside of character.

It was one of the few horror flicks I could actually watch all the way through. I really enjoyed the first one, I'm curious how they do the second one.

It also made more than $45 million from DVD sales in North America. Add to that rentals, VOD sales, Worldwide DVD sales/rentals and that makes one big profit from this film.

It took them long enough to release a sequel to this. It was their most profitable film so they should have gone back to it earlier.

DreadCentral.com reports that scream queens Danielle Harris from the Halloween franchise
danielle-harris-top-10-sexiest-scream-queens.jpg

and Katharine Isabelle from Freddy vs. Jason and American Mary
katharineisabelle.jpg

have been added to WWE’s See No Evil 2, starring Kane. They join Michael Eklund
michael_eklund_big.jpg

from The Call and The Marine 3: Homefront.

Here’s a new synopsis for the movie:

“See No Evil 2 revives the nightmare of the first film when Jacob Goodnight rises from the dead in the city morgue after his killing spree at the Blackwell Hotel. In this ominous, underground locker for the dead, a group of medical students fight to survive as the deranged psychopath once again starts to pick them apart one by one.”

Well as far as casting Win Lose Lose. Their using the last guy far to much in there films I completely expect he'll be in Leprechaun also. Seems they'll be going with classic horror story not explaining the guys mysterious ability to never die.

Really obvious that See No Evil is being filmed in Canada since all three of those actors have appeared on Psych before. Danielle Harris is a great addition to a horror film.

Why lose on Isabelle? Have you not seen her in the likes of Ginger Snaps, American Mary and Insomnia? She's a fine actress. Don't really know much about the other two so can't comment on them.

Ok I guess that was an unfair assesment She's also a win. But I think both of them in the same movie is unnecessary.
