I'm happy Ryback stood up for himself but calling himself a better athlete makes him look so dumb. It's not even a debate on who's more of an athlete between Ryback and Goldberg.

So being a football player instantly makes you more athletic? Yep, a sport where they play for 15 seconds, and then rest for 3 minutes. That takes talent. And Goldberg acts like he was some good football player. Fact is, he sucked, and had to go to wrestling because he did suck at football.

I played football for years, you have to be in some damn good shape to do that. And Goldberg didn't suck, he just didn't make it in the freakin' NFL. You have to be a great athlete to even almost get there.

That's why a man with 400 pounds of fat can sit there and be an NFL star. Only a few positions take real athletic ability. Football isn't the be all end all of sports.

You go out there at that weight and line up in front of someone the same size and go head up with him for 4 quarters then talk to me.

I would think that it would be just as athletic to be in wrestling as the NFL.

And those "fat linemen" run their 40 yard dash considerably less than 5 seconds. Just basing their athletic ability on how they look is the same as someone basing wrestling ability on someone's size before they actually watch them.

Tapout you are so delusional that it's not even funny. Whats the point of even arguing? People that don't get football won't ever understand. Don't bother Chris just let the delusional fool act like he's smart. Football is the toughest sport ever to handle with the contact and speed that they play at.

stfu tapout.

Seriously, that 400 lbs could outrun you.

And Goldberg was an Atlanta Falcon.

Also, comparisons between the two don't do any of them favors.

wow... idiocy in its purest form on display. All this shows is you know absolutely nothing about the NFL. Nothing.

And then to add... Goldberg played for 4 years in the NFL. He tore his lower abdomen off of his pelvis. That's why he left. Rehabilitation was successful but he just didn't have it in him anymore.

I'm a fatman and consider myself athletic. But honestly, to compare Football and Wrestling is just ridiculous. Because you were an athlete in one sport, doesn't mean you're amazing in another sport.

Tell that to all the HOFers in WWE who were all former football players.

Yeah, but a lot of them had some form of amateur wrestling in High School and stuff didn't they? Plus a lot of them were actually pretty good in the ring.

Let's see here.....

Ernie Ladd
Junkyard Dog
George "The Animal" Steele
Tito Santana
Cowboy Bill Watts
Paul Orndorff
Jim Duggan
Steve Austin

You know WWE HOFers.

Not too mention all the others who are not in the HOF but have made big impacts in pro-wrestling.

And bodybuilders? For fuck sakes, everyone who flexes their muscles can be considered bodybuilders. Geez, let's not even think about people like Cena, Hogan and Billy Graham right?

This fanaticism with indy wrestlers needs to stop, it's clouding actual judgement of facts here.

Anyone with an athletic backgorund could get into pro-wrestling, it's not just for guys who used to watch it as kids and could do some flips.

Made this post awhile ago.

Pretty much sums up the reason why football players make for good wrestlers.

Not to mention the fact that most of them can make the transition of taking bumps, because football line of scrimmage is based of pain. And thus more able to take it on a larger basis than most.

Amateur wrestlers and MMA fighters don't like bumps, shit you are trained to dish out punishment, not to take any. So yeah, it is ok to compare pro-wrestling to football.

Goldberg said in response, "I'm flattered that throughout his rise people have been chanting my name. I don't think it's a knock on him whatsoever. "

"I take no offense to it. To be compared against a guy right now who is (going for a title) ... who hopefully will be a major superstar for these guys is kind of flattering."

"For people to still be chanting my name six years, seven years, eight years removed from the business—that's a huge honor. Any comparisons in the positive note is a honor for me."

Goldberg also made his weekly NFL picks with the show. Listeners can pick with Goldberg and the show at 4thAndPain.com.

Sounds like Bill changed his tune a bit.

I don't think there is much of a comparison between the two except for the bold head.

As for Ryback saying he's a better athlete well I don't watch the NFL (I'm from Australia we watch Rugby League here) but Goldberg did play NFL and that is quite athletic to play so I would say Big Bill would be the better athlete while Ryback is the better wrestler.
