Well, his entire character in ECW was that he was a cocky prick who thought he was better than everyone else in the company. In between spots he would fucking bow to the crowd to a shower of boos. He only became popular because of the length of the TV title reign. Mid-TV title reign he only started getting face pops, mostly from the dives into the crowd, or over the guardrail onto his opponents. Prior to that he was one of the most hated heels in the company, constantly promoting that he was getting calls from WWF, wearing WWF shirts on ECW, etc. I think he was possibly trying to revert to that character by saying that he was better than Daniels, at least I hope so. I loved the heel ECW RVD & wasn't fond of his WWE run.

You all keep saying no one forced him to sign the contract & shit.

We are aware that the US is in a recession right now, right?

& besides: weed is pretty expensive.

RVD might have been high during that interview...

...and his debut on iMPACT!...

Pure speculation though. If he knew he was more than likely ending up in TNA he would have never said something like that towards the talent of his future employer.

Has the thought ever occured to anyone that maybe the WWE doesn't want him back?

Or maybe they wouldn't give him a deal no where near as good as what he's getting from TNA?

Van Dam isn't the most dependable wrestler, and honestly, I wouldn't trust him. The E' almost dismissed his ass when he got arrested with Sabu. If my knowledge is correct, they can immeadiatly dismiss you and break a contract with a wrestler if he's ever caught in a drug related arrest.

RVD's appearance will do nothing to improve their ratings...just as his comments will do nothing to hurt them. He's right, he is a bigger name than 95% of the company... doesn't mean he's a better wrestler than them.

Has RVD ever actually beat The Rock? Also am I the only one who thinks RVD and Daniels could put on an amazing match and feud?

The possibilities for RVD in TNA are endless and I'm not even a huge RVD fan. Still he is going to be in a prime spot being able to work with the real talent of TNA.

I'd never really label anything RVD was in to be "amazing". The guy seriously has 4 or 5 spots he hits, and sometimes he even botches those.

THIS.

But it's been, what, nine years since he had a really good match? The only standout match he had during his entire 7 years with the E was that ladder match he had with Jeff Hardy back at SummerSlam 2001.
