Both Hardys (especially Jeff) have improved vastly since then.

Wasn't a bad show, wasn't a phenomenal show either. I suppose I was expecting Christian... rephrase: 'wishing' it was Christian... and so when that didn't materialse I suppose it was a bit of a let down. Orton winning it, despite it being predictable, was a good thing. It cannot be completely unpredictable all the time. But it had a bigtime feel, something I didn't get from last year's Rumble until Cena came out as Number 30.

I enjoyed it. Seeing RVD again was cool, but no doubt nothing more than a one-time deal.

whats the point of winning the rumble if you cant go to mania? that would kill it. i can almost bet you were one of the idiots who were going nuts when cena chose to put it on the line. lol at the "LOL". im not the only one who thinks so. what the hell, it'd make more sense if i am.

Whether it be through suspention or as a direct punnishment, there would be NOTHING illogical or "wrong" about Orton losing his Wrestlemania spot for his attack on Vince.

...And it does nothig to dent the credability of the RR.

the lose all credibility was a sarcastic overstatement. i'd like to rephrase however, "whats the point of winning the rumble if you cant go to mania"....i meant not getting a title shot at all.

it..doesn't...matter...why he's not having his shot. bottom line: he didn't get it.

If you go back and watch all the Matt Hardy promos before SS, everybody has been busier asking him about Jeff than himself, so it makes sense to play the jealosy card, specially after that promo on ECW.

Indeed, add to that the in-ring segment where Edge ripped Matt to peices on the mic, taunting him about things being "...just because you're Jeff's brother".

Maybe I'm in the minority but, IMO, Matt being the attacker > Christian.

As for the show...

Matt v Swagger - Ok, opener... I like many others now wondering what they got lined up for Swagger... I think the ECW title will go quiet now as we run up that road to Mania.
Cena v JBL - The preferable outcome to me - Makes for a better JBL/HBK saga... Match was little more than functional.
Jeff v Edge - As above....
Beth v Melina - Dissapointing given their previous efforts... Hardly a convincing win for Melina to kick off her reign either.
Royal Rumble - Aside from the fact that there didn't seem to be too much fued building nor mid-card guys get much of a push, I really enjoyed the match. Might have been predictable having Orton win but I thin they told the story well and tell me it wasn't sweet to see him RKO-ing the fuck out of everyone... In fact that was one big plus for me, the amount of decent offense a lot of the guys got in throughout the match.

Other notes:

Yet again, give him the slightest chance and MVP will show himself to be a star! ...He played his entry period SO well.

The comentary was SHIT tho'... Why have Taker bleed so early in the match without drawing any real attention to it? ...I mean, who did that? ...If anything, JR & King served to distract from some of the bigger things that were going on!

And, to all those moaning about Hacksaw... Did none of you smark-ass fools notice that he got one of the biggest pops of the night? IMO, it's a shame they didn't save Santino or someone for him to eliminate with the ol' 3-point football clothesline!

Overall, I enjoyed the entire PPV last night. However I due have a few negative comments;

First, I am not excited for Hardy vs Hardy at all. Neither have the ability to carry a Mania fued due to their piss poor mic skills.

Second, the WWE missed a golden opportunity to build tremendous heat for the Legacy. They should have prolonged the beat down of HHH at the end. It would have shown that winning is important, but dominance is the most important thing. I would have also liked to see more interaction between HHH and Orton at the end. One highlight for me in the Rumble is seeing the last two guys go toe for toe. We didn't get any of that. Also, there were too many guys in the ring during the last five minutes.

Lastly, Edge is starting to become stale to me. I need to see some progression in his character. He started to change towards the end of his feud with Taker, as he became more ruthless then chickenshit. However, as soon as he returned, he reverted back to his old chickenshit character.

There is no doubt in my mind that Edge will drop the belt to to someone (HHH) at Mania. Especially due to the fact that I in fact see Orton going over Cena. They are building Orton as not only the top heel on Raw, but the top guy in the entire company right now.

Airfixx pretty much summed best my opinion about the show.

Like I said before, Edge vs Hardy was a great one on one match. but they wasted the No DQ stip, that's all.

MVP stealed the show to me. Vladimir eliminating him was a fucking travesty.

Hardy /Swagger was good opener and not a bad match IMO
Cena/JBL wasn't that good i didn't think. They have had better. Glad HBK kicked them both.

Melina/Beth wasn't nothing flash Crappy Finish. They have had better matches.

Jeff/Edge i enjoyed up till the no DQ was announced then from that point apart from Jeff's ladder spot It went crappy. Not sure how i feel about Hardy/Hardy Feud just yet. One thing I'm not looking forward to is there Mic work/promo's.

Rumble Match Had its good spot. MVP, Carlito and Rey were awesome in the beginning. RV D's appearance was good. I dint like how HHH threw Kozzy out. Id have like to see him stay till near the end. Orton winning was predictable but great IMO and Best result for wwe. Overall this was my fave match and the best IMO. Little gutted Christian didn't pop up. And i would have like to see Orton/HHH have a little back and forth action resulting in Legacy beating the shit out of Trips for a longer period than they did. Really work him over before throwing him out. Orton going all psychotic on him. That would have really got them some more major heel heat. And show Orton lose it again.

I was half expecting Legacy to beat the hell out of HHH, eliminate him and THEN have Cody & DiBiase simply climb over the top rope of their own accord, thus Orton being the winner.

Re-watched it last night... Still enjoyable...

LOL @ Taker giving Hornswaggle a 'helping foot' as he slid out of the ring after helping Finlay!

...And fair play to Santino - It took some doing to be in and out of the ring in LESS than Warlord's previous record of 2seconds!

Most of the RR went as expected but I am still in pissed off mode over fucking Melina beating Beth Phoenix. That is such bullshit.

BETH PHOENIX IS FROM BUFFALO. THIS CAN'T HAPPEN.

I agreed, MVP had the pop of the night when he did the Ballin' move seriusly, it was the loudest shit of the night, and the kozlov elimination was so gay, triple h just came to the ring and took out kozlov like a little bitch, fuckin' pointless, this is why I cant stand triple H, as soon I start like him they made crap like this and now I cant stand him again.

Swagger - Hardy: Nice decent match. Swagger grabs his chance. 7/10
Phoenix - Melina: Innovative for a WWE Divas Match. 7/10
JBK - Cena: Prefer to see (or hear) JBL as announcer. 6/10
Edge - Jeff Hardy. They can do better. 7/10
Royal Rumble. To less surprises, but good wrestling. 8/10

I'll just like to point out that my idea would have worked. Mostly everyone(notice how I said mostly everyone lol) there knew Christian is coming back. So my Royal Rumble Match idea of Hass coming out as him would have made the roof blow off the place. The people who called me stupid should bow down to me.

Yeah, it'd have even like TOTALLY overshadowed the appearance of RVD!

Worth noting that 'everyone' didn't "know" Christian was returning as quite apparently he DIDN'T!

Just rewatched the show again (really don't know why), but I figured my thoughts may change, and they really haven't. This show was nothing special at all. It had nothing that made me go "OH WOW", or "Wow, that was pretty fun." I felt last years was much better than this even. Anyways...

Swagger/Matt ~ **1/2
Beth/Melina ~ **
Cena/JBL ~ **3/4
Jeff/Edge ~ **1/2
Rumble ~ ***1/2

Really didn't find a 3 star match on the card besides the Rumble. Really sad. Everyone was saying the Jeff/Edge match was somewhere around ***3/4 to **** stars and that just baffles me. What on earth was so great about the match. After watching it again, there was nothing really spectacular in the match. The dive off the ladder was a total botch and Jeff almost completely missed Chavo. So I don't see how that could have possibly added to the match. I guess because it was no-DQ or the fact that Matt interfered. That must have automatically made it ***+.....

And thank god for the HBK angle in the Cena/JBL match. If it wasn't for him, this prolly would have been ** or even less. This was seriously on it's way to being worse than their WM match a few years back, and that is hard to surpass.

The 2 undercards were decent for what they were. The sick spot where Beth contorted Melina knee against her head was awesome. Anyways, as I've said, could have been WAY better. Overall, I'd give the show 6/10.
