Goldust when he made his debut... that heel was one of a kind. High caliber heel that was... mannn that was something special. Something that to this day cannot and has not been replicated.
The Original Sheik was the original heel. He scared the living F**k out of people with the fireball. Dustin did a fabulous job and was something new but I don't think this should even be a discussion.
I think it does. These are two completely different demographics. One was scary and one was creepy. They are on opposite ends of the spectrum. They were great in their own ways.
I too was a fan of the origanal Goldust character, and consider it to be one of the most unique of its era, but he didn't have a long enough run at that level, I went with The Sheik.
Went with Goldust because we've never really seen that kind of gimmick done before and still haven't. He was able to get over with a gimmick that could have been not taken seriously and laughed at but made it work very well.
