Rolling Stones Top 100 TV Shows

Meh

The placement of shows in these things is always gonna be incredibly subjective. As a collective, there's not really anything that doesn't at least deserve a mention. That said, it's incredibly mainstream/North American based (understandable given the source) which leads to my biggest grief with it, lack of diversity.

I think that's a good point. What is the consensus among UK people on which version of The Office is better? I've heard it on both sides of the coin but I'm curious as to the general consensus on which version British folk enjoy more.

Not from the UK but I never seen either versions of the Office.

This list just shows how little I watched terrestrial TV.

Most of my experience is a 50/50 split, which is pretty impressive all things considered.

Twilight Zone should have been number one honestly, since you can trace so many things that you see now in movies and shows to it.

Oh yeah, where the fuck is Doctor Who?
I say this because it literally changed the face of British television and for a time was the most popular TV show in the Isles.

You're telling me you got Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek for Sci-Fi, and The Office, Fawlty Towers, and Monty Python for British Television but you can't fucking spare a spot for the British Sci-Fi show that changed everything?

Fawlty Towers, Python and The Office translated to the commonwealth nations....I don't know anyone who isn't from Britain who knew what Dr Who was until nerd shit blew up.

I used to prefer the UK version and the humour but over time I have grown to enjoy the US version more when I got hooked on it. You get to spend more time with the characters as well. Our version had a pretty short run.

I would say most people from the UK perfer the UK verison, but then sometimes I think that's down to people refusing to believe that a remake could be as good. I love the UK show, but personally I think the US one is either better.

I find Sopranos underrated. Its a very good show, but best ever? I can't get on board with that.

Yeah Fawlty Towers translated so well to the US than I think its one of the big influences for Cheers. I would have had Blackadder for a good UK sitcom, but that feels one which is very British for US audiences.

Along thing I remember from The Sopranos is everyone bitching about the ending of the series

Not sure I agree with the order at all or even some of the entries.

Not sure how Battle started Galactica is so high.

The sopranos at number 1 feels off not because it's a bad show but because I don't think it's the best show ever.

Now I can see the order where its at depending on the age of those who voted because an older person will hold dome shows at a higher regard. Like MASH not being top 5 is bad in my book but someone who is in their 20 have really only heard about the show and may have only seen it on a few reruns.
