One thing that curiously wasn't on the broadcast that I thought would be btw was after the Swerve in our Glory match, Keith Lee called JD Griffey and Shane Taylor onto the ring and they hugged with Keith saying they were his family. They were playing the 6 man hype video during that

The early pay-per-view buy estimates are in for last Saturday's Ring of Honor Final Battle.

In this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that based on the first week estimates, the show did more than 25,000 PPV buys, comprised of 19,000 via streaming platforms and 6400 on linear platforms.

He noted the linear number could increase by anywhere from five to ten percent when the final tallies are in.

While the number is up from April's Supercard of Honor's 23,000 buys, even with a ten percent increase, the show would be down from July's Death Before Dishonor which generated 37,000 buys.

While April's show was on a crowded Friday during WrestleMania weekend, this past Saturday's show was the first in the Tony Khan era to be held in the afternoon. The night was also a busy one with NXT Deadline and a UFC pay-per-view.

The buys, the attendance and the live gate were the highest in the 21-event history of Final Battle.

A Chris Jericho vs. Claudio Castagnoli rematch for the ROH title headlined the show with FTR vs. The Briscoes in a double dog collar trilogy match for the ROH Tag Team titles announced on the Wednesday before the show.

The buys are still decent for ROH, but I think this should be a lesson not to squeeze a show in the afternoon to avoid a WWE and a UFC PPV. It’s a bad night and probably bad weekend. Move it up a week.

Ans I don't think they could have moved it easily bc they were already in Texas for Dynamite last week, then did ROH and Dynamite in Dallas this week. It was a logistics thing. I don't think a few thousand PPV buys (cause let's be real it wouldn't have been that many more) matters compared to the highest gate and live attendance for a Final Battle, combined with doing it at a convenient time for the talent

And biasedly, the early start time worked out much better for me so I'm glad it wasn't moved especially bc it probably would have been in a different city entirely and I wouldn't have been able to go most likely lmao

idk i kind of disagree, this seems like really good numbers for the timeslot. I feel it was a much less loaded and promoted card than DBD (i dont care if tk called final battle the marquee show of the year, it wasn't quite as hype as the previous ppv in my super cool opinion).

It was barely hyped on ROH TV compared to Death Before Dishonor too bc everyone was bitching about too much ROH so he'd already started toning it down

and to add, it's still the best Final Battle ppvs numbers ROH has ever done so I think within that context I'd say that's a success. it's gonna be a slow growth
