I don’t think there’s much casual overlap, but hardcores that would be willing to pay $40? I think they probably watch NXT at the very least. Maybe not Raw.

yup they both p much stayed the same outside small increments for big things happening. aew went up a bit more but it also had punk etc come in while nxt went the other way until the reboot. there's some overlap, but not much. Though I will say that from personal experience most of the aew fans ive met in the wild watch or keep up with wwe, not the other way around though
Yeah most AEW fans I've met watch WWE still but kinds turn their nose at NXT lol

I think the hardcores were probably thrilled to watch 2 ppvs in a row

For free maybe, but not everyone wants to pay $40.

I know this because the day the tv deal got announced, all the wrestling pages were bitching about ROH being overpriced on everything. I didn’t mention it here because to me the tv deal was a good thing and people suck.

I know I was happy. Had a nice little break between shows, but damn I loved getting that great ROH show, followed up by a pretty good NXT show.

I still can't believe the two people who sat right behind me at this show that I talked to, were then directly beside me at Dynamite:lol

We'd even talked about how we were all going to Dynamite too but I wasn't gonna ask where they were sitting, it's a big arena so it shouldn't have mattered lmao

I know I would pay it, if I had it.

the ppl who are willing to pay 40 are gonna pay it regardless of nxt being on. I also think you may be over hyping that nxt ppv for hardcores, this isnt takeover era anymore so its not like the ppl who want to see the best indie guys are going to suddenly care about two gimmick match ppvs (that enmded up being awesome)

Buys would have been higher if it was tonight for instance I agree with that, I don't think it would have been enough to matter and we'd still be discussing why they weren't higher tho lmao

Like anecdotally, I'm a hardcore, and I couldn't give two shits about the nxt ppv being on nor did it influence my decision to buy an roh ppv.

I think had the spent more time building and marketing the event and card it would have done a lot better. if even myself was kinda meh after insta buying the other 2, there was a bit of any issue there. and yet it still did really well, just could have done even better with a bit more effort

I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree because I think most people when given the option between paying for pay-per-view and getting a free pay-per-view will choose just to get the free pay-per-view it was the entire concept behind the clash of the champions being run against wrestlemania.

But the main thing is I just personally don’t wanna watch a pay-per-view that early and I certainly don’t want to watch NXT right after it. Maybe you guys have changed your opinions but I remember everybody bitching about wrestlemania being like eight hours long lol

Fair enough about it not being takeover anymore but I guess personally I actually kinda liked 2.0 I actually thought they were doing a lot of stuff better when it came to character development building up new stars.
