World of Warcraft may be planning to immortalise Robin Williams in-game with a genie named after the late actor, along with a couple of other additions.
Datamined files from the latest beta build reveal the addition of a new NPC called "Robin the Entertainer". As some commenters have already pointed out, the fact he's a genie leaves the door open for him to shapeshift into other forms, with the idea of a troll called Jumanji being a very popular suggestion.
Other forms spotted include a human female, likely a nod to Mrs. Doubtfire, and a human male, who we suspect may be Mork.
We don't know where the characters will feature or whether they'll offer any quests or the like, as Blizzard has yet to confirm these are the tributes it previously promised.
Earlier this week, Nintendo responded to a fan petition asking the company to immortalise the late entertainer in a new Legend of Zelda game. While it extended condolences to his family and friends, it stopped short of talking about any plans for paying tribute to Williams.
